They don't need the box to prove you're GUILTY. You need it to prove you are Innocent.

 

It's the airbag 'brain' per se, and it only records the few brief seconds before an airbag deployment. It doesn't retain a history, so they can't 'download' your speeding history, unless you crash into something causing the airbags to deploy, then they can see what status the truck was in when the bags deployed. You can remove it, but your airbags and all systems tied to it won't work anymore.

This is exactly what they want you to think. The bluetooth microphone is wired directly into this box. It's always on, recording and relaying everything you do into the SkyNet cloud.

Please, the newer vehicles are amazing in what they can do with modern electronics. These are a benefit to have.
