Bench-seat covers $180 (Can't believe its not leather),Bed Liner $375 (Bed rug), Roof rack $180 (Rhino-rack 2500 Series, plus DK clamps and pads), Modified Bed extender $85 (Extend-A-Truck 944 Truck Bed Extender), Hood lift assist $80 (RedlineTuning), Hood light $53 (tacomaworld.com âtacodaneâ), Hitch receiver $120 (Curt Manufacturing 13323 Class III Receiver), T connector for trailer $43 (CURT Manufacturing 55513 T-Connector), Manuel tailgate lock $30 (gatekeeper tailgate lock), Tailgate assist $28 (Sachs SG329900EZ Lift Support), Tailgate lock $67 (Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock Tailgate Lock PL5301), Spare tire lock $12 (Trimax ST30 Trimaflex Spare Tire Cable Lock), Hardwired battery float charger $20 (Schumacher SE-1-12S-CA Fully Automatic Onboard Battery Charger - 1.5 Amps) , Vin # Glass etching $33 (vinguard.org), Easy oil drain plug $30 (Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valve), Floor mats $80 (Husky Liners 2-Piece Front Liner 2-Piece Front Liner), out of space :)
OP: I’m with you man. Don’t listen and don’t trust anybody who say “I have no problem with government monitoring me because I have nothing to hide” Don’t trust them because next stop will be Union States of American Communists. The Canadian guy who said “tint foil” is always says that to people. So don’t listen to him either when he talk about back box.

Long story short, I know in theory how to safeguard yourself from government misusing black box. The black box is actually airbag module. It has memory cheap that can be disabled. BUT I figured other way to make black box safer without disabling it.

The back box (air bag module) is wired in with “air bag wire harness, basically bundle of wires that connect to sensors, airbags, speedometer, seatbelt and so on. All those wires run to one big yellow plug with 30 pins or so. That plug connected into back box (air bag module). (Module located in middle of console, see link below for more info)

So it’s possible to create extension cord that plugs in into wire harness and to back box. You can use that extension to relocate box to more accessible location so in moment notice you could unplug it and take it with you. (It possible to relocate box under steering wheel)

It’s your car and it’s your data on that black box memory disk. If you have possession of the box after the accident then you choose how to use it. When cops tow your car, it’s over. They can download info and use it against you. And remember that information on the disk could be circumstantial evidence that don’t proof anything but DA could build case even if you innocent.
Anyways, like I said above, in theory it should work. I did not try it yet, its on my to do list like many other mods I would like to do.

You will need bad Tacoma airbag module ($30) that will be used as a plug. You will need airbag module harness plug (complete harness cost $100, plug around $40) Soldering wire, iron, electric wire and electric tape.

    See this thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...rder-aka-black-box-airbag-control-module.html

If people would put as much energy in obeying the law as how to circumvent it we would not have these tracking devices in our trucks!

The box is actually was for car manufactures to study accidents. Like anything else, government will miss use "databases" or data. Like tracking cellphones. Drivers license center was supposed to be just for drivers records not for police use. Facebook, our privet phone conversations and so on and on.
Keeping privet what yours is not "circumventing". I fill sorry for our country that there's people who think like you on this issue.
I obey law to the fullest of my ability’s, even when no one is watching because it's right thing to do.

Ok , so when it gets dark tonight and you go to bed then dont close any of your curtains or blinds in your home. You dont have anything to hide , your not doing anything wrong . Im not trying to be rude Im just pointing out that we are loosing our privacy and freedom in this country in the last few decades .

because it's an infringement on your freedom to prove you actually were speeding just before the accident , or you actually didn't apply the brakes like you said to the cops ?

This is not the same country that we lived in a few decades ago. The political climate has changed. Technology has changed. I am aware of these changes but I will not succumb to paranoia.

You are forgiven :) I understand because most Americans do not know what tyranny is. I do. I lived in countries where people were murdered by criminals and their own government. I starved, ate out trashcans and had to wear same close with holes for moths. My family has been beaten by criminals and paid off cops. My father’s business was destroyed by criminals. Anytime day or night, they could have come for me or my family to take us away to never be see again...
It's fortunate that America has constitution that prevents tyranny, but in same time it creates ignorant population that like a sheep walking to the end of the corridor.
Sometimes I wish that ignorant could experience what my grand-grandfather did, being send to prison because he had different political views. I wish ignorant could be in my grandparent’s shoes and starve under dictator like Stalin. When you have bones and skin and no will to fight. I wish ignorant would live under communist ruling like my parents did, when thoughts are controlled. And don’t you dare to step of the line because you will disappear. I wish ignorant would live through what I lived. I think that would have made whole United States very much conservative and “tinfoil”

Ignorance and paranoia are not the same thing

Being worried that the government is going to track you through the black box in your vehicle falls under the latter category in my opinion

Yes I agree with you 1000% but the truth is that Technology that were are creating in the last couple decades is not just making our lives better but in reality it is working against us . It is very sad because of technology our children will suffer in the future as we as a society have lost the family values as our parents had for us .

I disagree. We already talk about this. If you have time, check link I posted to my "black box" thread. Me and Chris moderator talked about it. On second note, your statement tells me that you did not watch the video I posted. Please take time, it's very good and maybe you will understand that anything can be used against you.
I think it would be great to go pass the “you don’t need this mod” to “ I might disagree with you but here is how I think you could do this”
    Thanks.

Not to mention some states are starting to talk about taxing drivers by the mile. What a perfect way to know how much you are driving. Trust me, this has nothing to do with safety, and all to do with tracking. Oh but it is for the children!
