So, anyone hear of the "high standard" brand .22 handguns? they're quite old and supposed to be awesome and I could buy one for $500 or just get a newer .22 handgun for about the same price probably. what u think

Get a ruger mark 3. I've got one and it's insanely acurate and a blast to shoot

 

We've got a walther p22. Wouldn't carry it to defend my life or to shoot accurate but (most of the time) .22 ammo is cheap as fuck and that gun is a blast to shoot (no pun intended).

If I were you though, I'd move up to a 9mm or even a .380.

i like 9mm... but only in a gun that shoots straight.... the sole pistol that i can get to to defend myself with shoots 5 feet low at 25 feet have to aim at the ceiling to hit anything

 

Its frowned upon even where it may be legal. Best to wait until 21. I know in MD it is not legal to get one private party when you're under 21 but that doesn't mean people don't do it

 

It goes in cycles. In another few months it'll be $20 for a box of 550 rounds again haha

9mm is fine but i've never shot a nine that i really liked.

.40s&w recoils a little too quick for my small hands and i'm not comfortable with it. Thats why i prefer the slightly slower bigger calibers. I love .357 magnum, .45acp, and 10mm. .44 magnum is a little much but is controllable in my hands.

Frowned upon by who? If it's legal in your state (not using MD as an example, tx, MS,La or Ca would work) just know the law and if someone gives you crap for it tell them the law (and penal code number), and if it's not a cop or judge tell them to suck it.
