any ideas? are all mufflers the same? or is a muffler on a v6 different from a v8? Can i pick up a muffler anywhere (pep boys/autozone) or are those crap and i should get something better?

Cat-back systems I would imagine are all fairly interchangeable if the pipe diameter fits. Now for performance there is tuning that can be done based on the design of the muffler but since the cat's aren't removed in cars and trucks (versus usually being removed in motorcycle aftermarket exhausts) the gains are usually minimal at the low RPM's cars and trucks operate.

I would just worry about the sound of our exhausts and not so much the performance.

Don't blame you at all!!! I'm counting the days until my vacation in November can't wait. Surely there is something that you need to do to your truck on your days off though.

Well the bed lights should be easy just like the hood lights right? The AAL well that's just undoing a few bolts and putting them in and tighten stuff back up. You are off the next couple days shouldn't take more than a couple hours. Just think by Friday you could have it all done!!!
