DRL upgrade

For those who like the look of the DRL's on the XSP-X package or some of the TRD models, there is an aftermarket upgrade available:



1) Purchase DRL lights for $99 on Amazon:

I understand that when you turn on your car, they DRL's are on.

When you are driving at night and turn on your headlights, do they stay on?

 

On mine I have the option of when they are on or off. I tend to leave mine on all the time. I have a dedicated switch for mine.

They stay on when you use your headlights. They just dim.

 

Same with mine - They were on my Taco when I bought it. Bright little suckers...

 

This is only for 2012's and up, right?

Anytime!! If it was me I's find the stock switch for it.

 

Will have body shop provide me with a quote later today, I hope they charge less that $150 to color match and paint the housings.

 

Body shop charged $80 match and paint the housing of the DRL's.

Shop is charging $80 to install the DRL lights and hook them up to the DRL circuit of the Taco.

DRL upgrade cost:

$100 Hardware
$80 Paint
$80 Install

Total $260 for this "DRL upgrade"

....Will post before and after pics and final look (hopefully looks good)

 

Outstanding price for the upgrade. According the window sticker off my 2 month old 2014 TRD Sport, the exact same ones that came on my Taco cost me $499.

 

You really have me going on this one. Save me the money and don't post the final pic. I know I'm going to be placing an order as soon as I see it.

 

looking at the guys fingers I'd assume there's something sharp to deal with between step 21 and 26?

 

I'm kind of lost on what these lights do. Care to fill me in please.

Ok daytime running lights....... Hmmm is it something that is a option from the factory or looks better than stock?

 

LED Daytime running lights. Very bright in broad daylight...

 

Ugh....Amazon sent me two of the same driver side housing. Screwed up the projects at the finish line.

 

Looks really good! Do they look as bright as the ones that come on the 14's from the factory?
