    You can rent a compression tester at your local auto parts store. Thread it in, in place of the spark plug. Have someone crank the engine while you watch the gauge. I am currently have a brain fart, but they all need to be around ~10 % of each other. ( < That needs proper verification). The closer the psi to each other, the better.

    At 160k miles, I would switch to a 5w or 10w-40. Especially with an s/c installed.

    Correct. The raised rpms are to much stress for the stock cast powder metal rods.

    They are "sintered", such is a type of forging process. some engineers claim this method is superior to traditional forging.

    Learned something new today. Thank you. I found this pretty good description.

    The reason why our rods are so weak, is that they were made on the very thin, basically. Especially at the wrist pin end. That and the fact that they are inherently brittle. Unlike those made by other OEM's. Our were economy oriented versus performance.
