What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Depends on the 33 and wheel choice and weight of rig. But eventually yes. Especially with an auto tranny.

4th gear/OD lockup 70 for me is 2500

That is the plan but I haven't installed it yet. Got the tank tho. Is that your plan?

 

I wasn't planning on a skid. I guess it depends on the tank you use. I picked up a 5 gal tank that is long and narrow and will hang down about 6-7 inches from the bottom of the bed.

We'll have to see but it should be way up out of harms way.

 

I was just stirring the pot back at you. I think it is a 2nd gen thing, if they roll back the engine shuts off. I heard that from BradyT88 IIRC.

 

Since we are on the topic of boost still. The 5 lug just got turbo'd. It made sense doing a turbo instead of the trd supercharger because it barely any power for the 2rz and 3rz motors and isn't intercooled. It's nice to finally have v6 power and more on tap if wanted.

 

V6 manual trd 4x4's came with 4.10's correct? I feel I have a ton of power with my heavy ass treadwrights I think 4.56's will be more than enough to be my dd

 

The 4.56 will get you back to the feel of stock power and acceleration because of the transmission gear ratios. If you were an auto in the same circumstances, then 4.88s would do the same.

 

Too bad they don't have it in the pattern I want. And oddly enough their seat mounts are more expensive.

And I can't figure out which one I'd need from them because they have them labeled wrong

60/40 are benches I thought haha

 

There are actually three of them. The bench is a single piece seat found in some single cabs, then there are the 60/40 split bench and then the buckets.

 

Figured out the problem with my CB. Bought a dummy load and traced the problem to the 90-degree elbow attached to the radio. Removed the elbow and the SWR dropped below 1.5 on all channels. Also found out that antennas don't like to sit in water for long periods of time but thats another story.

Still need to add a spring and quick disconnect but that can wait.

 

How you liking the retreads?

 

well got my cb antenna mounted up. Going to install radio this morning.

 

I like them a lot and have had zero complaints so far. Only have about 15k on them so far, we'll see how they last. I know a bunch of local guys who run them with no issues as well.

I pulled the front fender off a little to get in there. Fab up a stainless steel bracket and bolted it to the hood hinge.

Good call on the turbo over S/C Mike , You love the dez & I'd think heat would almost always be an issue for the most part , I might be wrong here but S/C's & heat don't mix well..

 

My retreads didn't go so well either... I think it might have been negligence while the company was moving from MN to TX. Either way, they never replied to my requests for support, or the subsequent bank investigation regarding contested charges... I ended up with my money back and a few shitty tires to dispose of.

One is my trail spare works good enough for that (I hope).

 

I had a blow out at highway speeds. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I wrote a review in the wheels and tires section.
