Why most of Toyota lineups have some kind of low or 0% interest but not the Tacoma? The lowest interest rate I have seen on Tacoma was 1.9%. Is Tacoma in such high demand for Toyota to not consider 0% interest to potential buyers with good credit ratings?

I think you hit the nail on the head. They have no trouble selling Tacomas so no need for that kind of incentive. I got the dealer to "buy down" my rate to 1.79 because they wanted me to finance with Toyota instead of my personal bank.

    That's what I figure, too.

The thing is, I would probably have gone for a new one if the rate had been 0.0%, and not bought a used one.

The cost savings would have been negligible over the life of the loan on the used one at that point (at 2.4% used financing) so may as well go new. I think Toyota is actually losing some sales due to that.

Bingo, I asked about this when I bought mine ten months ago.
I thought I would be getting 0% for 36 months, that was what the dealer had been telling me all along.
The dealer informed me just before signing the contract me that was on a 2013, I bought a 2014.
It was their mistake, I raised hell about it, they discounted the truck $500 dollars lower than the deal we had agreed on.

I only financed for 36 months, will look at paying off here later this year.

Look on the lot you only see maybe 5 on there lots and 50 to 100 of the other vehicles. They don't make as many.

The dealer told me that Toyota never discounts the loan on a Tacoma, it was the same way back in 2006 when I bought my first one. I ended up in the low 1.something on my 2013 and it wasn't through Toyota. Its a shame when the dealer is shopping loans outside of its own company to get a better rate, but that's their own fault. I guess if you charge a higher rate, you don't have to book as many to make the same amount of money.

I got mine for 1.8% thru a bank that works well with local dealer. far cry from Bank of America giving me 2.6%.

I paid cash for my '14 TRD but later learned I should not have pulled that card until after we settled on a price (letting them think I was financing)... next time.

Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.

    This statement is so true.

That's why you rarely see a commercial on tv promoting the Toyota Tacoma hence the 'no incentives' or 0% interest, etc.

same reason why you never see a commercial for tacomas...they don't need to because they sell themselves.

IMO same with revealing that you have a trade. My canned statement is "if the deal is on the up and up, a trade will have no bearing on it". I've actually helped a coworked who was trading a vehicle to show him how they were getting his vehicle for free on a trade. Needles to say, his next conversation was much more interesting :)

There's credit unions in Houston that have .99% if you have a 710 score through equifax

In Ontario Canada, got .9% over 4 years from Toyota on a new dclb...pretty reasonable.....;)

you have to be careful with those 0% deals. most times to get the 0% you have to pay a higher price for the vehicle. maybe the price that is listed on it on the lot.

Kinda fucked up but yes it's true. That's why I go through my credit union for any loan.

Looking at goodcarbadcar.com, The Tacoma has the 5th largest sales volume for Toyota in the U.S. behind Camry, Corolla, Prius family and Rav4.

I got it for .0%...paid cash and got a great price. I always feel like it gives the dealer the upper hand because they know you want one and don't have the money for it. I got up twice during the negotiation and was ready to walk out...and I would have, but all worked out in the end
