Seems very pricey considering I'm only @ 43k with my build (including purchase price).

Here is a photo of the one I bought about two weeks ago. According to Toyota it was one of the first two on the street and the very 1st one sold.

On the window sticker was it added as the 5xx$ option? Is there a trans cooler? Bigger alternator? What does the hitch look like - 7 pin connector?

The V6 tow package is/was a Class IV hitch with a 6500 tow limit ... beefed up alt and battery, oil & transmission coolers, anti-sway ... but as we know packages change from year to year.

    Nice ride brother ... congratulations.

Well it is missing the bug shield, roof rack, and chrome Limited wheels. TRD Pro exhaust, air filter, skid plates, badging, wheels, shift knob, suspension, etc are all there. The only thing this truck doesn't have is JBL (Kind of a bummer as my 2013 Sport did)

I meant for towing. It has a hitch, but what about the other towing items that allow 6500lbs?

Well the bad news... After checking this out a little more it does not have the towing package as I thought, only a hitch. The good news I don't and probably never will use this truck for towing.

Out of curiosity why would Toyota ad a hitch to this truck, but not the towing package?? And if I should ever decide to tow something what are its limits?

Did you look and see if your truck had the other equipment by default? Or did you refer to the window sticker?

Just compared the window stickers its pouring rain so not going out to check under the truck. Any idea of what the alternator part# is or should look like?

Having just the tow hitch and not the full tow package seems to be consistent with the first run of Pro's based on the ones I have seen and gotten equipment lists on.

I am curious if it's Toyotas attempt to limit towing with the TRD Pro. I know if I am buying one, I need the full tow package. (if its even available)

The "tow package" allows you to tow 6,500 pounds ... that's a lot of weight ... the 7 pin (I believe) connects the trailer brakes ... required in many states.

You can still tow without, either with a hitch or a ball on the bumper, just not as much ... as long as it fits your needs.

4 pin gives away as hitch only and not the real tow package. $550 for hitch and 4 pin is a money maker for dealer, Toyota, or distributor.
