Not dual.. so I guess technically not straight pipes huh?

    Its headers->2.25" piping Y pipe->2.25"in/3"out collector->3" piping->muffler

    Don't know what you have..

So.. ill admit.. I'm a complete n00b when it comes to exhaust. Like I've stated before.. performance isn't my strong suit.. lol.

With that being said.. after some research.. and actually taking the time to learn about the exhaust components (cats vs resonators) etc.. I think I know what needs to be done to my exhaust now.

I have no cats, this is due to the removal of the factory manifolds that had the cats attached, and were replaced with the URD headers which are considered a long tube, which eliminates the cats, needing the o2 Sims.. this is what can cause rasp and why DTLT get its reputation for rasp.. as well as the URD y-pipe since it doesn't have resonators.

So.. since I don't have cats, which I'm ok with.. since I have the o2 Sims.. and I don't have resonators.. I'm getting the loud/rasp/drone/buzz..

Solution.. 1) add one resonator in front of the Aero muffler or 2) add two resonators on the new y-pipe just how the factory y was.

Am I getting all this close at least? Lol.

Now.. which resonator? now many? What length? What size (depending on if i add them to the 2.25" y-pipe or the 3" after the y-pipe) And will this help tone it down.

From what I understand, all resonators do is take away rasp and drone. My buddy who's life is performance (fox body mustang). He says they're basically glass packs. So yes. Add a resonator. Lose rasp and drone.

Isn't there a resonated version of your muffler?

You should talk to Matt (StillWill). He's done his exhaust over a few times and from what I could tell on his YouTube video, it sounds super dialed now. Supercharged like yours bit his crazy exhaust setup makes his truck sound super mean

You need to add either a resonator in front of the muffler or 1 on each side of the y pipe. I know the vibrant ones are popular but don't have any first hand experience with them

Keep in mind though, having no cat's could make you fail emissions inspection. Even though they do the ECU test, they always do a visual check to ensure they're there for my cars too.

This was my concern as well.. but was banking on them not doing a visual. Or.. registering it up here at my parents..

Or.. can I still add cats?

The "safe" route, pending you keep it registered here of course, is to just do a pair of high-flow cats. Those alone may actually help your resonation a bit too, plus give you a little back-pressure which is also a good thing.

I just went through emissions and they did no sort of visual check to see if I had cats or not

Yea it just depends on who you get. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you get some old hag that lives to make people's lives a living hell.

The best was when they tried to do a dyno load test on my TT awd stealth and put the rear tires on the dyno and was about to shift it into gear. They used to lock you in the little box thing when they did the test too, fortunatly between yelling and screaming loud enough I got his attention enough to tell him it was AWD. Dude turned white so fast knowing he almost rear ended the car in front...

Right.. so the high flow cats would be added into both sides of the y correct? I'm actually wanting to do this as well, I just wasn't sure if I could add cats, to a system that removes them (long tube headers)

And this.. if just a resonator would help with the drone and loudness, I may just do that.. for simplicity sake.. but.. I would feel better not having anything that could screw me.. plus the cats would help with the rasp/drone.

    Decisions.. decisions..
