So read that the fog lights were negatively switched so i put the negative from the original fog switch on the output of my new switch, flipped the switch for a second and smelled something burning. Turns out that wire coating melted. Now there is an ABS light on, Emergency brake light on, and icon of 4wheels with an x over the back axle all on on the dash, I also have no power windows or A/C or heat. The IGN1 NO2 fuse blows as soon as the ign is turned on. I plan on trying to follow that wire tomorrow and re wire. What else could this be? I really need some help!

All those symptoms are because IG1#2 fuse is blown - you need to track down the source of the short circuit. Remove all wiring modifications you made, repair the burnt wiring that you find, and go from there.

You were correct that the switch does in fact switch the negative leg of the Fog Lamp Relay Coil to ground. You did it wrong, Undo that then correct your melted wiring problem

This is how it supposed to work

Battery + >> Fog Lamp Fuse 15 amp >> Normally open relay contacts >> Fog Lights >> Ground.

Battery + >> Headlight Relay >> Headlight Dim Relay >> 10 Amp Fuse >> Fog Lamp Relay Coil >> Normally Open Fog Lamp Switch >> Ground.

If the headlights are on, The Dim relay is on, the 10 amp fuse is good, When you close the fog lamp switch contact it completes the circuit to energize the fog lamp relay coil. The relay coil closes the contacts for the fog lamps and completes the fog lamp circuit to ground.

From your description this is what you have:

Whatever battery circuit you tapped into + >> Switch >> Ground.

You have a direct short to ground. PM me your email address and I'll send you a circuit schematic pdf.

Put everything back to stock, until you understand what is going on.

opened it all up, looks like the wire is a 20 guage maybe 22 guage. the smallest wire i have is 16 can I replace it with that, or should i go hunt down some small wire?

Smaller the American Wire Gauge (AWG) number the larger the physical wire conductor size and the more current it will carry over the same distance and lower the voltage loss.
