When I was a high school senior I decides to skip school on a spring day by faking an illness to my parents, then encourages by my girlfriend, Sloane . and my pessimistic best friend Cameron to spend the day in LA as one of their last flings before they graduate and head off to different colleges. I persuade Cameron to let me use his father's restored 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California to pick up Sloane (as part of their cover) to travel into the city.

I arrive downtown and leave the Ferrari with two garage attendants , who drive off in it a short while later to take a joyride. Me, Sloane, and Cameron enjoy the sights, including taking in a game at Dodger Stadium, visiting the HollyWood Sign, the Art Institute of LA, the LA Mercantile Exchange, and taking part in a Day Parade.

At the end of the day, I retrieve the Ferrari, but discover on the way home that hundreds of miles have been added to the odometer, sending Cameron into a panic fearing his abusive father's reaction. After calming Cameron down, I come up with a plan to run the car in reverse, in place, with its rear wheels jacked up, at Cameron's father's hillside garage, hoping to reverse the odometer. I realize this is not working, Cameron unleashes his pent-up anger against his father, damaging the front of the Ferrari, but comes to realize he is long due to stand up to his father, and vows to accept the consequences. Cameron calms down and rests himself against the car, but his previous actions have unbalanced it from the jack it was on, the car hits the ground, races in reverse, and crashes through a glass wall, landing in a ravine. Despite my offer to take the blame, Cameron still plans to admit his actions to his father and take the consequences.

I walk Sloane home, then quickly race through the backyards of the neighborhood, attempting to beat my parents home. I make it into bed just as my parents check on me.

    Best day off ever!!!

My sophomore year of college, I lived in an apartment about a mile off campus. The apartments were only a couple years old, so it was a really nice place. I was having a party with about 30-40 people over. The apartment building next to mine was having a party, as well; it was about 20 yards from my building. Well, at about 2 am, we hear this POP POP POP, so I ran outside to see what was going on and there were probably about 100 black folks scattering. After everyone had cleared out, there was a freaking body laying on the pavement. Apparently, some dude was dancing with some other dude's girl and someone got shot over it. They roped off the entire area and no one was allowed to leave until around 11am the next day. Turns out, the guy who shot the other guy was in the Bloods and is now in jail serving a life sentence.

It's a great place to work, or so I hear. I'd like to go work for them at some point. One of our other linemen just got hired on with them last week.

Yeah, they caught him a few weeks later. He got the death penalty. Not sure if he's been executed yet tho.

I'm an apprentice lineman out of local 126.. About a year ago an electrician from the company I work for in Pittsburgh called me on a Friday evening on my way home from work. He said they had a big night shift job going on right in the middle of downtown that was nearly done. He said they could finish it in one night but they needed someone with a CDL who could drive an Elliot aerial work platform truck to the job and then run the truck. I agreed to go in and help because it would all be overtime pay. At about 2am on a Saturday morning I was finishing up my end of to work at 120ft up. I needed a tool on the ground so I took the basket down. I was about 6 feet off the ground and the entire truck began to rock and felt like it was about to tip over... I jumped out of the basket and made it around to the other side of the truck just in time to see someone backing a car off of the outrigger of my truck. The driver had to be drunk because he was in the complete wrong lane and drove through our barricades and cones before running into my truck plus it was just after last call for alcohol. Had he been about a minute earlier, I'm pretty sure he would have caused that truck to flip and killed me. We called the Pittsburgh police to make a report since the driver kept going. I had his license plate, make, and model and the cops wouldn't even make out a report. They said since there was no major injury and they couldn't prove he was a drunk driver and no other crime was committed and he did minimal actual damage to the truck that it was none of their concern.

My uncle was in a cherry picker working over some RR tracks that were supposed to be closed. Train hit boom on cherry picker and catapulted him onto a pile of steel. He lived but in a lot of pain. Big payoff, for the time period, from the railroad.

Yeah, the most dangerous part about aerial lift trucks is the traffic and other drivers...

Another crazy thing that happened to me was last year on halloween. I was home alone in my room flipping through the channels and I saw paranormal activity (I think it was the first one). I had never seen it before so I turned it on. It was at the part when they are in the bed at night and its doing a time lapse thing and they here a noise and check it out. The guy goes up into the attic and finds a picture of a little girl in a white dress. So I pause and decide to go get something to eat out of the kitchen. I walk down the hallway and once I get to the end I look at our front door (about 20ft away from me) and there is this little girl in a white dress staring through the window of the door. I quickly walk into the kitchen where she can't see me and I wait like 15 seconds for her to knock. I look around the corner and no ones there. She didn't knock and I didn't see anybody else with her. I waited a little longer and walked outside to see if anybody was walking around, and there was no one in the streets. Needless to say, that freaked me out a little and I decided to watch something else instead.

On Halloween like 5 years ago we were walking around drinking around 10ish with about 5 of us. We stopped at a nice little area at a school and sat down for like 20 minutes just hanging out. Some car rips up into the parking lot behind us and 5 dudes pile out all carrying baseball bats and start sprinting across the field at us. Needless to say we ran like fuck and got out of there.

Another time we were out at like midnight just walking around the neighbourhood and we went down to this little area down the road that was undeveloped and had 2 empty cul de sacs with trees between them. We had some beers and smoking some weed and just chilling out. We're sitting there when at the top of the hill a big ass truck flicks on it's highbeams lighting us all up and it does a massive burnout and starts hauling ass at us. We ran through the trees to the other cul de sac and we heard the truck coming down this other hill. When we turned to run back the way we came we saw 2 dudes coming at us so we kept running and ran through this area with half built houses and hid down in the trees down an embankment.

The dudes drove past 5+ times and the two guys on foot checked each house. That was the scariest thing I've ever had happen to me.

This isn't too crazy, but a couple years ago my dad and I were fishing a private pond in a small town in south west AL. Things were very quiet and peaceful, and out of no where we heard something that sounded like a minor explosion followed by continuous thunder, or a running jet engine. It was absolutely roaring, it sounded like there was a plane running just out of sight. We heard the sound for a couple of hours straight, and it would get a little louder then a little quieter but stayed about a dull roar. We heard fire trucks and ambulances a few times, and never could come up with anything that made much sense. Got home to my granny's house, and she told us that there had been a natural gas pipeline explosion, and that the gas had been burning for a couple hours before they had been able to turn it off. No one was seriously injured. The explosion/fire was about 4 or 5 miles from where we were, and sounded like it was right next door.

A group of us had been out to eat at a fairly nice restaraunt and when we were leaving, going out the door, a man coming in held the door open for us. It was Charles Barkley

Well this is some crazy stories, so heres mine!!

Me and my wife decided to get married in gatlinburg, tn and the night before our wedding we wanted to spend it away from each other and not see each other again until we met at the alter. Well around 10:45 or so that night we are going back to my hotel so she can drop me off and take my car to her hotel (my parents were taking me to the church and she needed my car so she could get there). We get to my hotel and she says she needs to use the bathroom, so we go upstairs, she uses the bathroom and we go back down, and just before we started saying our goodbyes, i hear sirens. Well while standing at my car, there is 4 state trooper cars that come up the hill and surround us, they jump out and ask if we are staying in the hotel, i say yes, and they tell me to stay where i am at, and dont go back in the hotel. Well about a minute or so later, a couple of fire trucks show up, and as i turn around, i see that my hotel is on FIRE!!!! It was just 4 rooms down from mine, needless to say im freaking out, because all of the tuxedos are in my room and im hoping it doesnt go up completely and burn all of our stuff. Well after about an hour or so, we get to go up and get our stuff, they change rooms for us and then i get to say goodbye to my future wife at exactly 11:59 p.m. and the next day went off flawlessly, but i sure did freak out!!!!
