Front end realigned and wheels balanced at Chet's today. A couple of the other customers walked out and started checking out the truck after I pulled in and parked.

All the vibe I was feeling is gone and the bump steer is better. I don't know how it measured before the alignment to know how close SGT Taco got it as the before numbers weren't on the print out. The tech just said it wasn't within spec when he put it up in the rack.

Get some patience or find a good, trustworthy mechanic.

Welcome to the East Coast. The bumper is easy to touch up. I highly recommend keeping an eye on the frame. Also, rinse the undercarriage down after every trip where you know they've salted the roads. You'll be alright.

Annnddd, it looks like the AC compressor needs some attention. The warble it was producing when it kicked on has turned into a chirp. Going to do some research but might be one for the dealership.

Nah I got the trooper taken care off... from here on out itll be done by me! haha

I'm seeing rust a lot... I need to take care of it and spray it down w/some paint.... If its on the leafs, whats a good course of action? ... Also I may be looking into getting into a 4runner, as mentioned before, so we'll see what happens in January.

I too have had a strange sound from my AC... sounds like a little chirp until I turn it off low, its just enough to irritate me..

I need to find a stereo place or take the trooper to bestbuy too (FML) my left door speakers arent working right and IDK if its either the stereo or the speakers... murphy's law is in full effect here in NJ.. I miss my NM Taco friends

There is a possibility that I may be out in the garage on Saturday working a few small projects and cleaning out the garage. This possibility will increase exponentially come Sunday and Monday. If anyone wants help with a project, let me know.

If it were me (and I'm doing this myself one week here in the Fall) is tear down the rear suspension, sand the leafs, spray paint them and reassemble. Otherwise, hit it with the wire wheel and some rattle can black and move on with your life.

I don't know when you'll be able to take leave but you may seriously want to consider coming back here to buy one. Anything that you buy out there will have a much higher chance of having rust already started. Make sure to do a thorough undercarriage inspection.

Check the connections at the amp. Easiest thing to do right now. Otherwise, you have to tear the door panel off and use your voltmeter to start figuring out your continuity issue or if you blew the speakers or the output transistors on the amp.

I have time today after the gym so that's my plan.. Play with it until it works (giggidy)

Also I may do that to get a 4runner. I think I could get a better deal for the trooper down there too

Apologies if I was one of them. I'm typically paying attention to the idiots, the clueless and the drunk so I don't get crunched. I'm not even sure what you drive. Hell, I drove right past WhiteToyTaco one time and it took me a second to realize it was him.

I wouldn't say they are unfriendly. More of, the people that can drive are pissed off at the clueless ones and the clueless ones are, well, clueless.

    /wave.

We are going out to the Rio Purco in the morning (end of southern). Doing the regular run... Dune, drop into the wash, obstical 1, titty twisted, moon rocks, snoopy, dragons back, land bridge and back to dune... Somewhere in there, where we feel fit, we will pop off some rounds and what not.
We should be at the southern and unser Wal-Mart (south / west area of parking lot) at about 8-830 to get last bit of provisions in a 2000 silver 4Runner with a game and fish plate, then heading down southern to the dune to air out... Just incase there is anyone last minute wanting to join, pm me your number and I'll contact you in the am...

Holy crap! I need to keep a better eye on this thread...

If anyone needs a tool bitch/helping hand/errand boy on the weekends let me know. I don't know a lot (although enough to be dangerous) about vehicle mechanics, so I really want to learn more. I'm single and have no life, so lots of time on my hands :)

Last weekend I was down in Alamogordo and we ended up pulling the head off of my buddies 1962 Volvo P1800, that was awesome. Of course his valves were pretty stuck in the guides, and one of the push rods was bent, no wonder it wouldn't start, haha.

I'm feeling very vulnerable right now and if I had the right impetus, I'd be very amenable to purchasing a TRD S/C...
