Hell yeah doves are a blast. But my kill rate is pretty bad. Haha. Dam things are fast. Even quail can be tough. I like pheasant they are like chickens around here. I've really started getting into grouse the past 3 years they're hard to hit too but I used to find a crap load. But last year I went and they logged the area. So idk what I'll do this year. Taking the dog to a field trial in sept so hopefully get a few chukars. Btw last year I shot in a mountain top trap league and a winter league mainly to help me with birds. Big mistake. I used a trap gun for the league and my field gun for hunting. The trap gun shoots much higher than my field gun. So when I got into the field I was used to the trap gun. Ha that was fun though

Should hunt pa. If a non res license wasn't so much. They stocked 200000 ring necks statewide last year. They were everywhere. Realistically the only quail your gonna find in pa is at a hunting preserve kinda place. O woodcock forgot about them. I put about 10 total last year. That's the most I've ever seen. Btw my dog will retrieve doves but he hates it. Haha he'll pick it up and drop it a bunch before he gets it to me. Dam dove feathers pull out to easy. Also. Funniest thing ever. When he retrieves ring necks he only grabs them by the neck or head and he drags them. It's funny to watch. But chukars/quail/woodcock he retrieves just fine.

Curious if anyone has any suggestions. My wife and I are looking into her being a stay at home mom. In order to do so, we need to cut expenses which will mean moving out of Cranford. We are looking for a town within a 50-60 mile radius of West Caldwell (my office) with good commuting access. Would be looking as far south as Brick. Any ideas / suggestions?

You know Brick better than me, but I bet you can get more for your money there than around me. That wouldn't be a real fun commute though, so maybe further north and close to the parkway?

If you see anything online around me I can take a look in person for you.

 Cheap rivet tool was a bad idea... (Broke 3 of 4 rivets before they were fully seated...) First time riveting, so considering I didn't ding the paint or take my eye out, it went ok. Anyone a pro at drilling out shitty rivet jobs and then re doing said rivets?

haha I used a cheap rivet gun on Chenbro's hood struts too. fucked one up real bad so I went and got a better rivet gun and the rest were a breeze.

I'd use a dremel or similar cut off wheel and cut any remaining shaft of the rivet off, then grind the rest of the rivet down as much as possible (very carefully).

you should be able to grind it down enough that you can just push it through the hole without messing up the hole (too much)

If you're anywhere near Oakhurst and need a hand, just let me know.

Where are you located? I got plenty of practice when I had to put together a whole gymnasium bleacher system with rivets. Drilling them out isn't too bad. I always start with a small bit and work my way up. This way you don't over drill it.

Thanks! I am keeping my eyes out around you. Figured you grew up somewhat normal :D, it's a little north of Brick, easy access to Parkway, and keeps me away from the NYC prices. Right now between mortgage, taxes, and daycare, we are paying around $3,600 per month.

I'm down in Mt. Holly, just north of Cherry Hill. Looks like about an hour drive from either of you. At first I thought I over did it when I reamed out the holes to make the rivet fit, but then I realized the one that actually worked correctly, the first one, was the largest of the holes. The instructions (Redline Hood Struts) called for a #11, but said you could substitute for the equiv bit, with some light reaming. So I went for option 2 because I had it on hand.

I ended up using some heavy duty metal snips to shear the 3 off about 1/5th in. off the bracket, so I can get to the little pieces if I need to. They seem to be pretty secure, I was tugging on the brackets pretty hard and got no movement -- Might be ok with just using a grinding wheel and making them flush, and leaving it for now.

Thanks for the offers guys, and I'll definitely take you guys up on those sometime. In hindsight I should have waited for my first mod day I guess lol, got someone who's experienced with riveting to show me the ropes

If it feels good and solid, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You've got a number of connections and ultimately the hood latch is still holding everything together,

Remember, riveting can be a riveting experience.lol

I also have a bunch of parts coming in, nothing fancy or big, just small stuff but would be fun to meet some of the NJ TW crowd, and get them knocked out if anyone wants to check them out.

BAMF CB antenna mount, Relentless LED/CB hood mounts, Pop&lock power tailgate lock, Slim's HID's, finish my hood struts lol. Only took close to a year, but about 10k miles in and ready to get the mod's rolling. Only things done so far is an ultragauge mounted above the rearview, and some 550 cord wrapping on the a pillar handles.
