TRD sport has firmer springs, 8.4" rear end, color keyed grill and rear bumper and 17" wheels, off road has rear locker with 8" rear end and 16" wheels.

Depending on the modifications you have planned am sr5 may be the better choice.

    I have a few mods
well the big difference between the Sport and the OR, OR has the E-locker

    Sport:
    - Color matched everything
    - Auto LSD braking thing or some LSD
    - super hood skewp that nets 55hp!
    - 17" Sport rims

    Offroad:
    - E-locker
    - flat hood
    - 16" TRD rims
    - I think different riding suspension

thats all I can think of off the top of my head the major differences between the Sport and OR, I like my auto tranny

if a trd sport has an 8.4 rearend, and a trd offroad has an 8in rearend, what does a prerunner have?

    8.4" rear end

they've all had something like that, the old 2005-09 iirc have the mechanical LSD, all the newer Sports have the auto lsd that does something with the brakes to prevent power loss to the wheel on the ground is what I think it does. I would still stick with the locking diff over the LSD if you are gonna be offroading it. but being brand new i doubt that's what you are gonna use it for. so maybe get the sport then in the future swap the diff out for an ARB locker. then you get all the color match and the bigger rear end

I kkow, I'm joking. But the 6 speed in my opinion isn't as bad as most would lead you to believe. Stock clutch is a joke though. I have had both 2nd gens, 1 auto off road and 1 manual sport. I do not care for one over the other.

Most of the options will be changed anyway.

The sr5 you can get with any configuration motor and transmission wise in the dcsb.

My 09 has the abs lsd, and I've done the yellow wire mod and the abs kill switch. Works pretty well.

No, you can get a TRD sport or OR, in 4wd or prerunner.
