John do you have everyone's number? Nick you got dudes numbers? I'm guessing there is cell reception if the cbs aren't working... I'm still missing a good antenna. My coat hanger replacement is a little weak :anonymous:

Nice. It sounded awesome at Hollister a few months ago. How'd you lose the antenna?!

anyone from the riverside area heading out to this? if so and you want to be compensated for some gas, I'm selling my old leaf springs to another member out in that area and he is willing to pay a little for you to deliver them/ meet up much closer than I am to him.

otherwise...getting excited for this one. wheeling trips have been minimal for far too long, and to test out the new leafs (haven't even arrived yet) the last socal meet up out there that i went to had a very diverse crowd and we only managed to run over one dirtbike (everyone was fine, no damage or injuries to either party, but they are out there and we do need to be careful carrying speed around some of the corners)

anyways, my cb has been deciding to not work, and I haven't bothered to troubleshoot it, so i'll be in the dark as far as communication goes other than yelling out the window or cell service. att does have pretty good service out there, verizon ok, everyone else might as well leave them at home

been riding dirtbikes out there for about 17 years now, so I know my way around damn well in the main hungry valley area. once we get into more of the frazier park side over by miller jeep trail, i've done minimal exploring on a bike, but never in a truck. that area will be much more fun for those of us with 4x4

Firestik antenna brah. Make sure you get the threaded mount, and you could probably find or make a bracket to go on the top/side of your bed. Or if you wanted to mount it on your tow hitch plate it would probably work there too without a separate bracket.

He was using a magnetic mount antenna from the 70s, the antenna probably just wanted to be free after 40 years. Or it couldn't handle the bumps at La Grange.
