wow.... I'm sorry, but this speaks ignorance.... I got my license when I was 16. When did I get a car? Two years later when I went to college and had to live off campus my second semester. Most people I know didn't "get" cars as soon as they got their license. First off, if they did the obvious way is get a job or save money to buy it. Second, most people I grew up with had to borrow a parent's vehicle when needed. Meaning, ask mom or dad to borrow the car for a night out, go shopping, go to work, etc. And finally, who in their right mind gives a freshly licensed kid a brand new car? I can't count the number of people I grew up with that wrecked their first car because it was given to them before they had enough practice and experience under their belt to know wtf they were doing. New car + inexperienced driver = accident waiting to happen.

Case in point: how banged up is your truck? how many speeding tickets do you have already? how many close calls have you had focusing more on your camera phone than the road ahead?

Ours only sits and stares right before bed and he's "patiently" waiting for raisins. :D (we give him some each night before we go to bed for a little treat.)

The rest of the time he sleeps, bounces around from level to level, or runs in his wheel.

Sometimes he likes to chase the cats when we let him out. They're all scared of him for some reason and yet mildly intrigued. They'll approach, but freak out when he charges at them or bounces past. It's amusing to watch him hop along toward something (wall, doorway, couch, a cat), twist in midair, and kick off in another direction! It's like watching a game of pool with a fuzzy ball and a dog with no traction trying to catch it on hard wood floors.

lol He's a very nice pet. Quiet, doesn't eat much, doesn't make much of a mess (other than grass and dust kicked out of the catch), amusing to watch, friendly, and soft. It's like his fur isn't there, but you can feel the pressure and his warmth. Also, no dandruff like other pets (good for asthmatics), and supposedly it's hard for them to get fleas due to the thickness of their fur.

Although since they're native to mountains 80F and higher is a bit too much for them. We give him a rock to lay on, make sure he has water, and keep the fan going when it gets close to 80 inside.

Ours likes to have his stomach rubber and around his ears. He'll sit there on hind legs, cock his head to the side, and kinda get this glazed over look in his eyes. lol Doesn't bite, but will gently nibble you fingers and finger nails. lol

Oh, and we've caught him.........servicing himself a few times. Guess we need to get a female one. (And he also got a little too friendly with my wife's hand a couple times.... )

    Thanks!

It's not like I'm trying to be a dick here, but seriously wtf?

Doesn't anyone save up money and buy their own shit anymore? Sure, my mom has put money down for things for me and helped me out here and there. She still does. However, she steps in when I *need* something and can't make things work. First car was a 5 yr old Tercel with 90k on it. It lasted a year maybe and was traded for a Corolla I spent 5 years paying for on my own even when I was between jobs. No one stepped in and made my payments for me, gave me a car to drive all the time, or anything else like that. Worked hard for everything I have. Any money received from my mother (and really the ONLY person helping me out that way) is considered to be a loan in my mind that will one day be repaid. Granted it's taking longer than I hoped, but what do you expect with a wife, 3 kids, and lots of unexpected expenses. lol

ummmm.... enough rambling. Basically, it blows my mind that saving up money from a job (even a paper route, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, etc), or financing it so the job you get will pay for it didn't cross his mind.
