Nice dude. Hope it goes well up there! We'll have to go wheeling up there sometime.

Yeah, there's a few front range trails I would like to get in before the end of this season. Most notably Middle Saint Vrain/Coney Flats.

Finally got the frame plates installed thank's to Wishbone Runner. Found out that CBI sent me two passenger side plates, so I had to notch one to fit on the driver side. Didn't turn out too bad:

What did you used to clean the old shit off the frame? Flap disk? My coating is super oily so when I did my sliders I remember it being a nightmare to get clean. Both my flap discs got gummed up super fast.

Flap disk. Only took a few minutes per side. The only thing that's on there is paint and dirt though. Don't think my truck has ever had any frame treatment or undercoating and I have almost no rust.

They don't put an entire oceans worth of salt on your roads? I feel like I am always constantly battling rust.

Use a thick grinding wheel and it pretty much just burns it off lol you'll look like you were standing behind a drag while it was warming up after but it works the best

Brett, has your truck been partially repainted? Just noticed the color difference on the cab behind the door.

No, the dry air helps too.

You giving yourself a tumbs up becuase that's all your work. Thanks again!

Not that I know of. One previous owner, clean carfax, of course, that doesn't mean it couldn't have happened. I've seen no indication of body work, but the paint on that passenger side cab is not very good (clear coat missing, paint faded off the top of the door, and is pretty thin on the top of the fender). Could also just be the sun and my phone camera. :notsure:

I figured between the bumper with the swingout and the longer shackles that it would be a good idea. And quite typical of me, I bought these damn frame plates several months ago and just now got them installed.

Went wheeling on Sunday. Hit Yankee Hill, Kingston Peak, and Jenny Creek.

Crawled under the truck today and found this. Going to try to get the parts and take care of it this coming weekend.

Yep. Doesn't look to be too bad of a job. Good excuse to change my transfer case oil too.

Output shaft seal was a fairly straight-forward job. Only issue I ran into was removing the old nut from the transfer case. My impact gun wouldn't do it, and with a breaker bar, I only moved the truck. So, my brother and I came up with a rather questionable method of removing it involving a breaker bar with a long cheater pipe, 4WD low, and the clutch start cancel button. :D

    Worked perfect!

Also, ordered an ashtry location switch plate, some new OTRATTW switchs, and a pair of LED pods to use a backup lights. That project should be under way this weekend.

My question is how the hell does your t-case "skid" still look so good?

I hit the carrier bearing and the gas tank before I get a chance... :D

But really, a true mid skid is on my list. I don't think I've ever really hit the transfer case, but I have very slightly hit my rear cat. Just a little dent in its shield. Surprised with all my wheeling that I haven't had more :notsure:
