I just finished the latest mods on my 05 TRD Sport. The changes include a Toytec 3" lift, Helo Maxx6 Wheels 17x8 and Nitto Terra Grappler rubbers in 265/70/17. I gotta say, you guys that are running 285's are doing something. My 265's are still rubbing on the passenger side inner fender well on the front half when I'm in reverse with a full left hand turn. I can't imagine how much you have to cut away to get the 285's to clear. Overall I'm glad I stuck with my factory sized 265's, but the AT tire looks a lot better than the HT that came on the truck from the factory. I did the lift myself with the help of my dad, it's was relatively easy and straight forward. A few pics in my photo gallery.
I'm pretty new here but I like it! Thanks guys!!

Thanks for the comments. It's Indigo Ink Pearl. My first choice was white but I bought this truck when the 2005 first hit the streets and I knew I wanted the quad cab with the 6'box so I had to take whatever color I could find. I had to wait several weeks for my dealer to get this one in as it was, which left me without a ride and borrowing other peoples cars.:(

    Truck looks good.
Hey its all plastic right, get up in there and hack it all out, real easy, then hammer that pinch weld up against the body;) Now the only time I rub my 285's is when I stuff the tire hard and its against the body mount.
Next on the list is to hack up the front body mounts:) Imagine the guys with the 35's with a 3" lift:eek:

Here's the link to the grill on my ride.
    http://www.american-truck-auto.com/billet/toyota_tacoma_20895.shtml

The install is pretty easy. Most everything bolts straight on. The only thing some people may not like about it is the fact that you have to cut out the center of the factory grill and leave just the outer frame and then the billet portion bolts in. It wasn't hard to cut and remove though.

Yeah standard stuff. I didn't have a problem cutting up on the factory grill, it was well worth it. I just know that some people aren't crazy about the idea of taking a sawz-all to any part of their truck because then it's definitely very permanent......HAHA No turning back after that first cut.....

Yup, I would rather pick up a bolt over and not have to cut or be able to totally remove the stock grill and replace. Cutting my taco scares me:(

I started out looking for a bolt on one but didn't find anything that I liked for the Taco. One of the problems is that the center piece of the gill actually bows outward so it's hard to find a good looking bolt on. Just go for it and cut the center out, it ain't that bad.....:D
