I like wood stock, and blued barrel. I am not dead set on remington, I just like the look, and I keep hearing 7mm08 is the best hunting cartridge ever.

 

Depends who you ask.. Or what you're hunting. The two main guns I will use now are a 270 win, and a 300 wsm. But the 7mm08 is a good round.

 

This rifle will be for elk. I just found the weatherby mark V, that gun is looking like a winner in my book, now to pick a caliber....

 

Any of you guys have exhaust that dumps in front of the rear axle? What do you guys do to pass emissions tests? Throw stock exhaust on for testing?

 

I'd either try another emissions station or run to vato zone and get a length of exhaust pipe and clamp to the end as needed. They just want to see the pipe past the axle, they don't care how it looks otherwise.

 

I have the MBRP which turns down before the axle so for emissions I will just get a custom little piece of exhaust tubing to clamp on there temporarily to pass emissions

 

That does sound easier than bolting up stock exhaust and switching it out. Thanks guys

 

hey Eric how do you like that front lift so far?

 

I love it... especially coming from spacers. The OME's ride stiff but I prefer it to being bouncy all the time.

That's a good rifle. Have you shot the 7mm08? I would find several different elk rounds and shoot them side by side. Just my opinion, that's how I ended up with a 300 short mag.

Yeah I liked the 7mm short mag too. I shot the browning a bolt stainless stalker. It was high on my list.

I haven't shot a 7mm08, looks like the Weatherby only comes in 7mm Weatherby Mag, I don't know anywhere to go shoot one, no one I know owns one.
