I'd go full ome, dakars ride so much better than aal. and since your financing that $400 over (I would guess) 60 months, it will be less than $10 a month.

I've got 885s and 1.5 aal. truck has about 3/4 inch rake. Also toytec has 2" aal.

My truck with dakars rides unloaded better than my wore out stock springs with a lift block.

    Hey guys, new user here...

Looking at buying a used Tacoma and have done a lot of research on OME combos but want to raise a few questions.

The truck I'm looking at is a used 2013 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 Double Cab with:
    --ARB deluxe bull bar
    --ENGO winch
--Daystar 2" leveling kit up front,
--1" block & TSB Leaf Pack (4 leafs, 3 & 1 overload) in the rear

I know the Daystar 2" with stock SR5 suspension in the front is not sufficient for the 200lbs+ hanging off the front now. I want to know the most affordable way I can get a decent setup up front (comfortable off road, will see very light off road use) and for the truck to sit level. I want to avoid messing with the rear right now if possible.

If I go with 886's and 90000 OME Shocks, will it be front high?
For affordability, would 886's and Bilstein 5100's set to 0" be ill-advised?
Will I need a diff drop?
Should I fear any of the infamous vibrations?

    Thanks for the help!

No, had a Camper top on it. but stock springs wear out fast too, might as well address the problem while he's spending money. I've got 70k and my leafs already are seperating. The aal got them back into shape but won't hold them long.

If you never have your bed loaded and rarely if ever haul anything will dakars suck to use as a daily driver?

Lift blocks suck , and I suggested a progressive 3 leaf AAL

I have the Dakar leafs on my 08 DCSB and I drive 95% of the time with the bed empty. I've only had the setup on for 2 weeks now but so far, I can say this:

    - It does ride pretty stiff
    - If I go over a bump quickly...its kind of jaring. Meaning that it feels as though the leaf pack isn't really flexing much.
    - It rides Much better than the stock leafs + helper leaf setup I previously had.

Hope this helps..... feel free to ask me anything else if it comes to you.

True. I have extended 5100s back there and it rides like a dream with weight back there.

Since this is the OME thread, figured this question belongs here.

On a DCLB with no weight up front, will the 884 coils give me a full 2" on 5100's?

Also, if i add a winch with no plate bumper, will 885 coils support the weight and still give me 2"?

so 885's will give me 2" without any weight? Id love to go full boat OME but its just not in the budget. im also a weekend warrior, so the truck sees mostly street with an offroad trip or two now and then, hence the billy's. Also, in the back... if you throw an 3 Leaf AAL in, do you actually need longer shocks? ive been told that an AAL only increases ride height, so you don't need longer shocks.
