How can you tell if its a catback or regular exhaust? and if I switch my regular to catback will I notice any improvement? and how does it sound? I had magnaflow on my other truck and would like something a little more quiet and not so ricey sounding.
    thanks

all exhausts have catalytic converters now. They are used to filter the fumes and cut back on pollution. As far as exhausts, you can get a full exhaust from the headers all the way back or simply get a muffler. Thats what most guys do. Its gonna be up to you on wht sound you want, there are a lot of different options to look at. Try looking here:

you shld be able to get an idea and if you still have more questions then ask them in there and you shld get a better response. Good luck!

Catback is a toyota mod meaning that they have an exhaust mod that goes from the back of the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. the exhaust tip is also very different from stock

catback- full exhaust after the cat converter back to the tailpipe.

"regular exhaust" - not sure if this means just a muffler or what?

No need to get a full catback unless your going to get a supercharger or turbo setup...... the stock exhaust piping is already mandrel bent. Just get a muffler you like the sound of welded into the stock pipes and save a lot of money.
