What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Hell yea it was...im having withdraws, I need more..lol

 

Tried to splice some soft eyes for a synthetic rope extension, but had a ton of trouble getting the tapered end to bury far enough. Anyone have some experience with this? Pointers?

Good news! Fedex found my package. It was dropped off today. Just a few small things.




Replaced that little cap that everyone seems to loose, lol.

 

What is that cap even for?

 

An eject button?

lol Idk, I think you pop it off to help take off the shifter panel.

 

Allows you to take it out of park without the key in the ignition.

 

Wow, I never knew there was even SUPPOSED to be a cap there haha

 

Are you using a fid or just cutting it at a taper and taping with masking tape?

 

Wrap the end in some masking tape to get it down to a point and use the tube of a bic pen to hold the "cavity"open that's created inside the line.

Something else I did was tape the end of the line (that was taped) to the pen tube and it helped me guide it through.

My 96 was missing the cap as well. I've driven brand new Toyota Corolla's and Camry's that had an open slot also

Any one know where to get silicone radiator hoses for a 3rz? Ive seen silicone radiator hoses for almost every other engine model except for mine.. automatic transmission.

Also does anyone have a suggestion for a good aftermarket radiator or should i stick w/ OEM? (i think the aluminum ones will be a little out of my $ range.)

 

The light that lights up my gear options in my 2002 tacoma is out how do i go about fixing that i do not even know how to take off the cover can anyone help???

 

Just got in contact w/ LCE about their silicone radiator hoses. They have a 3rz kit but its for M.T. only.. Pretty sure the reason its for M.T. only is because they have just never compared it to the OEM A.T. hoses. He said he would give me a call back when he can compare them to the OEM A.T. hoses.
The top hose is the same for both transmissions but he is unsure about the lower hose.

EDIT/UPDATE: he just called back again and said i need to order 2x kits to get the correct hoses id need.. I would need the 5vz kit & the 3rz (M.T. only) kit. Damn thats an expensive radiator hose kit.. 140$ w/o shipping or tax for both kits..
