Definitely works. Bear Grylls has nothing on me

Gotta stand back though, that stuff is pretty volatile. I usually stack my wood nicely with the kindling on the bottom, put about 1/2 a cup to a cup of white gas, light a paper towel or something paper on fire, and toss it in from about 5 feet back.

I have used your bacon grease idea in the past but tend not to when I'm in bear country. Old Forge is known for the bears so I don't put anything food related in the fire pit. While we were out by the fire one night, we had 4 bears walk right by our site, not more than 30 feet from us.

I was awake at 5 this morning. Early for me, esp since I go to bed between 11:30-12.

 

Usually around 4:30 here.

Well that was dumb.

I'll admit that I'm usually in bed around 10:30-11.

 

I can't sleep before midnight, doesn't matter how early I have to be up.

 

Morning all. I was up at 330 then 6. Went to bed at 1am.

 

Was at a buddies house a few days ago and caught this beast in his driveway. Moved him off to the nearby pond so he didn't wander into the road and get squished

 

What a monster!

 

New dad problems.

Pretty crazy that they can go from that size to the size of the monster that lives in the pond at my family's camp. The head on that guy is the size of a canteloupe. I used to wade out and fish in that pond; not since I saw that guy. I'm even nervous when I go swimming now, haha!

 

Damn straight new dad problems. The going to bed at 1am is my fault, I couldn't fall asleep so I was playing PS3.

And ya it's crazy how small they start out and how big they get. We've got some in our lake that I'm convinced could overturn my 12' aluminum boat if they so pleased

Had some frozen tuna burgers from hippie foods last night. They were surprisingly good
