Yeah ever since Obama issued the sanction, saiga's values have gone through the roof. People are spending 1200-1500 on a saiga 12 like it's nothing. I've wanted an ak for awhile now, and with the conditions getting worse in East Europe I doubt there will be any over here anytime soon.

I have a NIB VEPR 12, never shot or taken out. I wonder if I should sell it soon.

Well the saiga shotguns have always been more expensive than the rifles. 1000 was a normal price for a converted s12.

If you want to convert it yourself, Classic has some in stock. Parts for a basic conversion are ~$150 (Tapco G2 trigger, buttstock, bullet guide, pistol grip)

    http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/rifle-1-original-5pc.htm

Add a bullet guide (so you can use standard AK mags) and you have a factory new AK.

Or, get a N-Pap. It's a yugo rifle so most of the parts are proprietary, but if you don't give a shit about your rifle being suitable for only T1 operators it doesn't matter.

thats a steal for a Vepr. I wish i had sold my saiga and picked up a Vepr. ive really been thinking about getting one in the next month or so. i like that there is no gas plug and you can insert mags straight in. opposed to having to rock and lock them in like an AK

it means it has enough US made parts to be 922r compliant. you have to add us parts because with certain features it losing its "sporting" status

I just know the local shops were charging $1200 for fully converted, and WAY too much for them to do a conversion

I had a friend who decided he wanted a suppressor more than an S12...so he sold me his

I'm going back quite a few years before converting them was the 'in' thing and prices sky-rocketed on both conversions/parts & the sporter shotguns themselves. I sourced parts and did the work myself. It was fun but not something I enjoyed enough to hold onto forever and when the prices started going up I let someone have it for all the money. I considered making it an open-class 3-gun unit but I was just getting out of that too so it didn't make much sense to keep especially when I could easily triple my money. Used to be you could get one for $250-$275 all day long. Those were good days.

I found another AK for 750 with 350 rounds of ammo included. All it needs is the bullet guide. I've been thinking about getting a bump stock/slide fire, anyone have one? And if so are they worth the money?
