Just a bunch of old crap
I had a Pulsar back in high school. I wheeled that 2 seater t top through riverbed sand and also crushed the oil pan wheeling down back roads around Roosevelt Lake. Ran it for 7 years and the interior was like a jet cockpit. Never had any issues with it til the end when the tranny finally detonated. Loved that car, but traded it for my 92 Toyota regular cab pickup.

Notice how anyone talking about their Nissan is circa 90s.

Step into a modern titan. The gaudy plastic interior is atrocious. I bought a Nissan XE pickup in 96 and it wasn't bad. But this is 2014

My family has both a 05 Xterra that I've previously mentioned and a 2013 Altima. My dad prefers his Xterra interior to my Tacoma (which he doesn't really like at all), and the Altima's interior is what sold my mom on it versus even a Lexus, where she didn't see the value compared to the price increase. The Camry didn't even compare. Just goes to show it's all personal preference. We all prefer the Tacoma interiors, because hey, that's what we own. Not everyone else agrees.

I run a service department at our family business selling/supporting agricultural equipment. We try 110% to do our best every day we show up at work. Sometimes we mess up. The customers who show us grace and give us a chance to work things out are the customers we LOVE working with. The customers who write us off after we make a single error are the customers who find out we don't really miss that much anyway.[/QUOTE]

I sure hope you take all your own advice when the shoe is on the other foot. You are making a lot of assumptions you are not qualified to make. I did get a valve core tool and fixed it myself. You are again missing the point....I should not have to if the service dept. did quality work. The second part of that is what happens when the core vibrates out completely, the tire goes flat. That would be real nice doing 70 down the road with my family in the truck.

I not once said the Taco was a shitty vehicle. Everyone saying I was not smart to buy it knowing there was a balance issue with the tires appears to be right. That said, I've not run across (until now) what should be a simple rebalance to fix that could not be quickly solved.

I had an appointment for the service, was told ahead of time that I'd be expedited. So I don't think my comments about the time it took to get them replaced is out of line.

I also know how the car game works. You can go in and let them lowball you on your trades if you want. I did my homework and knew what the range was that I should be getting. I also explained what my numbers were up front to the salesman before he started the numerous trips going back to his boss.

So yes....the buying experience was shitty. I should have walked then, but didn't. The corporate nobs were not capable of correcting the situation. So now I'm driving an XTera. I never asked for sympathy or the smart ass comments from some. As for the low post count, only had the truck 2 months and I read more than I post.

Appreciate those here that are open minded enough to see that I'm not knocking them or the Tacoma. Simply the problem with the truck and the inability of the dealer and Toyota to correct was just not worth the hassle to me.

    Thanks

Thanks, and I will agree that the advertised prices are lower that most in the area. You know what I'm talking about then about the whole buying experience feeling very disjointed and like none of them talk to the other. From your post, it also seems like you've experienced the "they don't listen" part.

Do you take it for service at Russel?

Appreciate you posting up about the same dealer.

Op I don't understand something. You came to a brand loyal site just to input your thoughts about the brand and how you out of 1,000's of other have just been abused and mistreated by a corporation.

Then when that same brand loyal site pushes back you attempt to defend yourself. Which is admirable but dumb. You're not going to win about it. We all understand toyota is not 100% all the time the perfect truck. We know they can have their quirks about them. But in the end you thought it wise to purchase a truck that has a known history of some vibrating. And even test drove one that vibrates and STILL BOUGHT IT. You have no one here to blame but yourself.

I came to this site after buying the truck. See my other comments, and I agree in hindsight, I should have walked away and gone a different route. Either a different dealer, vehicle, or both.

Nothing wrong with being brand loyal....I am. Just have to be open minded as well. Guess that does not apply here so much. Thats cool. Trust me, I don't much care what you or the other negative Nancy's are flapping your gums about.

I just put up a post that because of the issues I had, I did what I felt I had to do to fix it. Seems that makes me the bad guy. So be it.

You sir seem to be quite the scholar. Thank you so much for adding such remarkably insight to the thread!

Haven't needed service yet but when the time comes I will take it to Brown's, only because I live closer. I went to Russel to buy the truck because Brown's wouldn't match their price, and Russel had what I wanted in stock when Brown's told me it would be 4-6 weeks for me to order one. Like I said, I was happy with the sales guy but their finance department annoyed me. I went in, with the vin # to the truck I wanted, had the check in hand, and walked out after an hour with the truck. As soon as they tried to play the numbers game I cut them off and said I'd leave without the truck. That shut them up quick.

Marines love abuse. Some of the most honest and tough military members I have met though. I did see a fat marine today so you guys might want to get on that seeing as how I always hear about them and their PT. :) regardless you made a boot mistake by buying something that was broken. No need to get F'd in the A over it. And honestly no one cares if your leaving or how cool the 2014 xterra might be or comparably priced I can imagine your shaming of that particular dealer on a review site would have sufficed. Also if your not happy screw them in the survey toyota sends the dealership I bought from was so worried about that damn survey they gave me another free tank of gas and two hats when their finance manager took longer then I liked.
Also I'm fairly new myself but you don't have to leave...
    Good luck.

When my dad passed away, we had to drive his 2007 Titan back from Colorado to Arizona. The interior on that thing (fully loaded model with leather interior, nav, etc) was like it was out of 1984. Panels rattling and it wasn't as nearly as snug and well-made as my old 87 Pulsar. I hear you there. It did run and drive like a champ though, even with all of the Colorado corrosion and rust.
