I'll be there. I should at least have mine up and partially disassembled by the time you arrive. If you have any wiring concerns make sure to give me a heads up so I can bring stuff home.

I don't think any wiring is needed; I got the corner blinkers wired up (put in a switchback in the corner lights). Thanks though.

Though now that I think of it, I might need help id'ing how to hook up the leads on the guages. At least borrow your manual again.

The compression of air isn't the only thing that creates heat with a turbo. I'm rockin the rear mount and my charge pipes still get pretty hot when driving in 100% vacuum (4 wheelin and slow traffic). I'm sure the radiant heat from the exhaust housing transfers to the cold side quite a bit. I wouldn't let somebody pay me to run a front setup without an IC regardless of how I drive.

Have you measured your IATs with the rear mount? I'd be curious to know what they are.

No way dude I just ordered the rest of my charge pipes, couplings and clamps. I'm ordering the headers tomorrow. Might have to sell my body to the night to pay for the oil pan weld job and my boss to help me install everything LOL.
I'm going to (try to) take it easy until a check or two later to get the FIC.

Have you ever heard of running more than one muffler? These 3" straight through mufflers are still too damn loud. And are you going to have a post cat OEM O2 bung welded in?

I haven't but according to clownmeat's rear mount info they are anywhere around 30 degrees above ambient temps at full warm up standing still with occasional slight depression of the pedal. Driving around like a normal person at least 50 above ambient.

All with no IC and the temps are supposedly being recorded at TB

Haha, I feel the same way. Been eating PB&J's for lunch lately.

Ive heard of installing a resonator tube to keep down drone but not two mufflers :notsure:

Due to fed regs, you will need two cats installed unless you can get a questionable shop to install the exhaust and may not have enough room for two mufflers.

You didn't hear what I was saying. And I is totally worth it IMO. Putting a fan on the IC isn't.

My dad has two mufflers on his supercharged truck. Totally fine to do that

Yeah, I've read through Clownmeat's thread. That's actually what inspired me to go the turbo route, lol. I was just curious to see if you had similar IATs to him.

I was considering just a resonator pipe and the aero muffler. I hope it doesnt sound like shit. Im not too worried about being loud when on the throttle as the waste gate is going to be open... Im gonna have to be careful with that.

Lol for real man. I'm welding the exhaust myself so I'm not limited to anything. Speaking of limited I was looking at the inside of this high flow cat and noticed that even being "high flow" it looks pretty darn restrictive. I was thinking about either adding another cat in parallel or just welding in a bypass curve that's like 1.5" in DI and just teeing it back in after the final O2 sensor. Most people who completely redo their exhaust delete the cat all together so I'm sure that won't be too big of an issue. I'm probably WAY overthinking everything but I don't wana have to change it later.

Is it fully divorced? If it is...it's gonna be loud no matter what in boost :D be awesome.

My dad had a muffler and a resonator silencer thing. It helped a lot but didn't kill it. Still sounds great

I'm not sure with our v6 but I read a thread of some dude with a v8 truck who had to install SIX mufflers (3 resonators and 3 mufflers all 3" straight through) to get it down to where he wanted. Sounds pretty damn goofy to me but still... I don't want every kid in a honda accord and their mom trying to race me every time the light turns green like how my set up is now. I can always add another muffler/resonator later.

I'm sure my temps are a few degrees lower since he is still using schedule 40 PVC pipe as charge pipes. That insulates heat better than aluminum.

He was my hero too when first thinking about boostin :)

Haha. Goddamnit. Another turbo thread I read from beginning to end that isn't completed.

    Looking good.

Have you picked up your coil overs yet? If not a decent alternative might be Radflo. I've been running them a couple months now and could not be happier. (2nd Gen though, couldn't tell you if they have what you need)

Haven't made a decission. If readers haven't noticed, I don't make any decisions finalized until I actually buy it. I'm not sure I want to take the chance with FOA; read some good, read some bad... Might just wait for used coilovers for sale (FOX, KING, or ICON).

Paul!! Been a while since ive seen you. It was great to finnally go to a meet and be the biggest 1st gen arround :D.

Been meaning to call. There's a guy at my work who was interested in an MMA club but I think he's going to be too busy. I told him Id ask what club you were into anyways, just in case.

Quick question, you still into welding? Ive been getting some coaching and plan to get a hobby welder in the near future.

Oh by the way, I still have your u-bolts; neither fit (one was too long and the other too short ). Ill hold on them until you want the back.
