Well, the exhaust setup didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. BUT. I will hopefully be getting it all sorted out Saturday. I will be trying a couple options. I will be adding high flow cats to the Y pipe. A flange after the collector. And then testing 2 setups... basically 2 catback setups.

One being 2.5" piping with a Vibrant ultra quiet and the 2525xl
The other being 3" piping with a vibrant ultra quiet and the 3030xl

Which ever one ends up working the best with the current setup I have (headers and high flow cats).. the other will basically be a ready to go.

 

Well then I will be waiting to see what you decide and we can work something out then. I sure hope you end up getting exactly what you want with all this fucking heart ache haha.

So on my way back from picking up the other resonator.. a mustang GT and Corvette were behind me
heard one of them rev up.. I took off when the light turned green.. eased on the throttle.. and ended up getting a thumbsup from em as I turned into my neighborhood.. and they passed me

 

Apparently they like it more than you. lol. It will soon be a refined exhaust note though.

 

It was either that, or the whine they heard. Lol.

Its honestly not as bad anymore.. just because I'm used to. So anything more tame will be perfect. I'm excited to hear the difference between the 2.5" setup and the 3" setup.

 

Well, there is usually a bit of a break in period for exhaust setups as well. Except your muffler is the same one you had installed already right? If not, it takes a few hundred miles to break in

 

no.. its a new one. same kind.. just the 3" version.

I was saying the shock and awe of the loudness hasnt worn off i guess. its still loud and annoying as shit, but it doesnt bother me AS much. lol

it will definitely sound a lot better after tomorrow.

 

Did you ever take a look at matts build to see his exhaust setup? His truck sounds mean as shit

taking my Gopro too to record every combination for anyone else thinking of this setup.

Tomorrow late afternoon and Sunday. Tomorrow morning ill be the exhaust shop for about 4 hours tryin all this stuff out.

 

Yupppp lol thanks for the ride today. Your truck is a monster right now!!!! Was a lot of fun but when the children get as scared as they did from a little rev it's a probably good idea your toning it down a little

that was pretty hilarious.. :lmao: like i said, it gets goin in those high RPM's now.. but has taken a slight hit in the low end. I'll hopefully be finding the best combination tomorrow. then back home for more goodies!
