I need a snatch block and some extra line. Just for this type of stuff.

    enough to go over stuff
There was a tree, a cliff, and a boulder in the center. Anthony got hung up good on his slider. Ended up bending the sliders kickout so he couldnt open his door to get his recovery gear behind the baby seat. We winched off a big tree up hill and about 50 feet away.

Ill try to go back again this summer but I will definitly go back a few times next summer.

I dont think we had enough line. If we had no other way to get back we would have been there awhile and figure out how to move rocks and use max tracs and the winch to get up but we still had a long drive home after wheeling and it was already getting hot and we had alot of trail left. the snake trail was a small trail off the main trail we wanted to acomplish.

So you tried snake lake on the way out or just bypassed it?

We definitely could have made a stronger effort. I'm convinced we could have made it through just by picking a different line, rather than needing to winch. I just wanted to give the winch a try, since I haven't had to use it yet.

We hit snake lake on our way from Gold Lake to Gold Valley trail, on the way home on Sunday. Made it to that tricky part and doubled back. If it hadn't been a travel day (4+ hr drive home) I think we would have given it a better effort.

But then again, as we were leaving, I watched a solid axle land cruiser on (at least) 35's try to come down it. He was awfully tippy, and I could tell there was some major butt pucker going on inside that LC.

Definitely going back, and going to get up to snake lake, without question.

Damn that looks so awesome guys, I will be there without doubt next year, my truck should be in full expo mode.

In the mean time I have been dying to check out prairie city and was wondering if anyone wanted to go this thanksgiving break?

Either Friday the 28th or 29th, I'm terrible at planning things heads up.

I'm going either way but it would be cool to meet up with some fellow tacos.

Edit, even that Sunday would work so the 28-30, one of those days.

I was just out there (Prairie City) on Labor Day for a last-minute foray. I had nothing else to do that morning, and had a hankerin to lock the hubs for a couple of hours, and I'm only about 20 minutes away.

Lots of folks were out there with bikes and quads, but the 4x4 area was practically deserted ! Had the place to myself (except for one stock jeep for about 10 minutes). They actually had watered about a third of what I call the 'pre-runner track'. Kept the dust down, and softened up the track a bit.

Found a couple of 'obstacles' that I wasn't aware of before. I had fun, then left when it started to warm up.

I was thinking about heading to Prairie City this Sunday. One of my buddies just lifted his truck and wants to get it dirty, figured I'd bring my 91 along as well. Not sure on time yet, more than likely earlier in the day. He isn't sure he'll be free, but if anyone else is down to go I'm game, haven't been out there yet.
