My 06 Colorado needed 4 cam sensors in 5 yrs, a cylinder head, and timing chain.

It was used 15K per yr, never off roaded or plowed, and occasionally for transport but never heavy items and never towed with.

GM lied to me every which way and a "free" repair of the head and chain cost 2 grand. Plus one dealer refused to do it saying they don't get paid enough to do warranty jobs.

Sure, I want a diesel. But the government and the people with money who actually control this country would rather not let that happen.

Oh yeah, my 06 was a 4 banger 4x4. 17mpg city, winter it dropped to 15 even if I didn't use the 4 wheel.

Not me I rather have a 2.4l turbo 4 for the Xrunner in AWD. Straight 6 with twin turbos for the prerunner and 4x4 and still get 28+ mpg :D

I just can't get over the styling of the Colorado. It looks somewhat similar to the Envoy front end, which isn't aggressive at all.

I haven't yet sat in a GM interior that i really liked. Everything just feels awkward in them. you have to be a contortionist to use half the buttons in my parents envoy. I don't mind my buddies silverado, but it looks and feel cheap. I've been waiting years for GM to step it up, maybe in another 10 or so they will...

yeah and let us know how it does off road also , For the record , no other mid size manufacture truck has the gearing and torque that work well together from the rear end to the front diff to the transfer case and the trans that work as a symphony that Tacomas have . just saying .

This friend falls into the 90% category who will use the 4wd when necessary. He's not an enthusiast like we are and uses it to get to the ski resorts in the winter for snowboarding with his family.

So, for the record. A consumer who is buying something they feel fits their unique need as opposed to what is an extremely small populous of enthusiasts isn't really a good comparison. Just sayin.

Compare numbers and facts. My soccer dad ute will walk circles around any comparable Tacoma on this forum. Just sayin.

Was I bashing your friend for ordering a colorado ? no I was not , I am curious how well it does and if he likes it and how well it does off road . The second part of my statement was not to bash you or your friend but to make a pint on why Toyota's do well off road . But you have taken both of my statements as an attack on you and your friend . Your response was very quick to judge me on what I was saying and very unprofessional as a mediator . How sad .

I find it crazy how people can order a vehicle they have never driven or sat in, my father just did the same for a crew cab rado. He is getting rid of his 2013 Tacoma for it. I saw an article yesterday that said gm has 40,000 dealer orders already for these new Colorado's. Of course that only matters if most are sold units or dealers just stocking up.

Saw 2 new Canyons on the road today in both black and brown. They looked great going down the road, very truck-like and not at all like a car or bastardized SUV which I think the Chevy Colorado is going to look and feel like. I've always felt that way too about the Frontier, it just doesn't look truck-like enough for me to consider it as a serious contendor.

X2. I'm curious as to where the affront was.

    I'm guessing a 4Runner Trail Edition :D
