I'm just fishing for users opinions on truck lifts & what they(you) think is the right height, same question is posed for tire size also. Personally , my 2000 TRD 4x is stock with the exception of 32.5 BFG's, I have no real issues with the rear of my truck being high enough but think that a suspension lift of say 2.5" to 3" in the front would be ideal (or slightly above level). There is acouple of TOYS running around my areas that are lifted so ridiculessly high & fitted with tires that are obliviously so big that they strain the front axles regardless if its a straight axle or IFS & you know they aren't really funtional anymore. They look like just another bloated overdone street 4x that would no doubt destroy itself if off roaded.

3" in my opinion is perfect "IF" you need it to clear for tires. I have the same exact truck you do, except for the 32" tires. I plan to get 32" tires for mine in a month or so. I hope they fit OK because I'd prefer "NOT" to lift it. IF I need to lift it, it will be just 2.5" to clear for tire size. Yeah, I see a lot of really high trucks. Just stupid if you ask me.

I bet you see way more Rangers than Tacomas though. All white with big shiny skid plates?

    A few bolts are different.
I would agree with that. I have also see some amazing stuff out of a 4runner with no lift, locked front and rear.

I think it depends alot on what the owner whants to do with his/her truck. Most off roading is best with a vehicle that has the best ground clearance, with a low center of gravity. Some want more lift for spinning larger tire for going thru mud, and yet otehrs want a big lift for looks....Its all dependant on what the owner of the truck likes.
