I have sylvania silver star lights they are really bright and white with the brights on but in reg mode they are just a little whiter than halogen lights... about 25 each. If you find something better let me know, I know HID'S are really expensive aren't they?

I put the Sylvania Silver Star lights in my 03 taco and you can tell the difference in hi and low, I left one OEM bulb in while I was changing them and you can see the difference. The OEM is a dull yellow, and the Sylvania is nice and clear. worth the 30 bucks from Pep Boys.

I have a similar experience with Sylvania. They're ok, not great.

You might want to look at adding the Xenon HID hardware. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-0...tegoryZ33710QQihZ013QQitemZ230089161297QQrdZ1

If you install HID just make sure you get a conversion kit that's meant to replace the type of bulb you currently use (HB2, H4 and 9003 are all the same bulb).

If you don't use the correct conversion kit the new filament will be in the wrong spot and you'll likely wind up blinding oncomming traffic... which can get you a fine and possibly your vehicle towed if one of those oncomming vehicles is a cop.

You are definitely correct on that. Read the info about HID conversion kits found in this link:

I have been absent from this forum for quite sometime. I still havent found what I think is a quality HID kit, but I did find some articles on the companies that so-called advertise their products as the real thing. I am putting a link into this post which I think would make some good reading. One advantage of this article is that the website can be used to search out any company to get info on them BEFORE you buy.

I got my HID kit on ebay. 6000k. hi/low kit was roughly $120. No problems with them. its just a plug and play kit, no retrofitting or anything. The cut off isnt as bad as I thought it would be, the factory 2nd gen tacoma cut off is pretty decent anyways. I can take pics if needed just let me know.

Pics of the cut off, and could you get some pics faceing the truck from about 100 ft. away with the lights on?
