Is it not just as foolish to claim poor quality or reliability on a vehicle that hasn't even hit the market yet? You guys look like a bunch of defensive idiots saying it will be trash.

Why not just call it for what it is right now? It looks pretty good, right about perfect on size (close to the Tacoma), and it appears to come with WAY more features than our trucks. If it's at least halfway reliable and doesn't cost a fortune it should be a pretty good truck. :)

Cheaper is right, in more ways than one. Chevy will always draw in those who only buy 'murican', but I don't see Tacoma owners flocking to GMC.

I looked at them also, but you also have to think of the re sale value IMO
The Colorado will never match the Taco.

This is an interesting articles that unintentionally highlights something very important. Ford is not even considering the mid-sized market, GM left the mid-sized in 2012 and is just now returning, and will only stay IF the sales are high enough. Even if they do stay for a second year, there is no guarantee for a third or fourth year.

Tacoma has a proven customer base, after market base, etc. In five years with a Tacoma you won't be trying to modify parts meant for another truck just to get a some small upgrade. You also get Tacoma reliability, whereas GM has had more recalls than all other manufactures combined. So go ahead, by a GM product. I dare you.

Then go buy a Colorado. Nothing wrong with opinions. I have had Chevy trucks and it seems the newer they get the cheaper built they come. They come with more bells and whistles but that is just more crap to go wrong. I will give up a couple mpg and have a tacoma which is a clearly proven platform and holds it value for ever... Tacoma is just a well built truck. I must say I think a tacoma blows the new Colorado out of the water in looks though.

The Colorado/Canyon duo has gotten quite a bit of modernization for 2015, and my '06 Canyon was an admirable vehicle until the valve metallurgy problems with the I-5's raised its ugly head. GM should have been slapped with the Lemon Laws in my opinion, as the engine pretty much self-destructed before reaching 120,00 miles. I found another engine with 80,000 miles on it and put it in. Then, it's been one Check Engine light after another and I was just getting fed-up trying to wring any more out of this truck....reason I went back to Toyota.

My two previous Toyota trucks were just broken-in at 120,000 miles, LOL. Aside from the engine it hasn't been so bad of a truck. I am interested in learning more about the 306 horsepower V6 they are offering for that line, however, my tuned I-5 could hold its own against the V8-powered Colorados and Canyons.

I've just lost faith in GM due to this Canyon I still have, and I still think the Tacoma will hold its own against the 2015 mid-size offerings from the General. I know one thing for sure, the Tacoma interior is much nicer from what I have seen. The instrument pod on the GM's is like looking into a tunnel.....

I thought about waiting for the Colorado when I was looking at Tacomas, then I remembered I wasn't a retard. First time Toyota owner here, my personal experience with Chevy work trucks has been horrible.

You already went there, it's too late to turn back now.

I hope the Colorado and Canyon do well for GM, if only to spur Toyota to up its' game and offer a better truck for the money. I'm kind of sad to see the compact/mid-sized pick up market die off. I love the size of my Tacoma, but even so it's a fairly large truck in it's own right. I'd like to see an actual compact pick up return to the market, but I don't think it would sell well enough so that will probably never actually happen.
