I have a 2014 DC, it came with the back three windows tinted. I went to get the front ones done, and was told the rears are 22%, which means they are too dark to legally allow me to do anything on the front; and that CO law would allow nothing darker than 27% if I wanted all windows done.

But the stock glass isn't tinted, it's colored glass, so it can't be removed to put 27% on.

I would really like to stay legal, but you all know how bad the sun is. I suppose if I had the coin I'd replace the rears with clear, then do everything at 27%.

    What have you guys done?

You should fill out your profile a little bit more detailed so your location is more than 'CO' as that would help us to know where you are when you're posting. This is a prime example of a conversation where if you're near me I'd simply give you the phone number of 'a guy' and you could go get your windows tinted w/o all this extra stuff.

Man show up at a shop with cash in hand. Say " I want (insert percent here) her is my cash." Then walk out with newly tinted windows like a boss.

Same truck as you in pic year and all. 15% all way around.

I'm in Cali where you're not legally allowed to have anything on the front windows. On my last tacoma, I had the fronts matched with the rears and was not bothered once for as long as I had the truck (7 years), even when pulled over for other stuff. On my new one I'm planning on going darker on the rear windows, slightly darker than factory privacy glass on the fronts, and 55% on the windshield with a 22%(?) strip at the top. I'm not too worried about getting hassled for it.

They guy I know will do it, no questions, he did my Scion and it was great. Didn't know how badly CO enforced it. I'm in Erie.
