3" Revtek lift, 3" body lift, 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson MTZ tires, Aries bull bar, Flowmaster dual exhaust, mesh grill, window tint, 17" American Eagle wheels, 315/70/17 Cooper ST Maxx tires
I am looking for new shocks for my 06 double cab. I have a 3" Revtek leveling suspension lift that uses a spacer in the front and have heard that spacer lifts are the worst for handling. I also have a 3" body lift and run 35" tires. I have stock shocks. Any suggestions on some good shocks that might make potholes/speed bumps/rough dirt roads more manageable as well as a smoother ride on pavement?

I have heard those are made stiffer and don't always provide for a better cushioned ride. Is that true?

better than a Revtek spacer lift. if you're looking to reuse your stock coils then they can't be beat for the price. if you want to replace the whole coilover then you can look into Old Man Emu or Toytec or the more "serious" off road suspension companies like Camburg, King, Fox, Icon. etc.

so it boils down to budget & use.

I am currently in grad school so budget is an issue; however, I don't want to spend money on something if it doesn't make my ride noticeably better. If replacing my coils would help, I would suck it up and replace them

I'd go with Eibach coils with Bilstein 5100's.

won't run you anywhere near what the big guys charge and the ride would be noticeably better.
