I didn't really measure my hub to fender before hand but it seems like everyone else is getting a full 23" hub to fender with the exact same setup and I'm almost 1.5 off of that. Anyone have any ideas why that is? I read there may be a difference of settling with the older 885's and the 885x's but is that difference over time or immediate?

Did you buy used springs? Is that what you're asking

No they were brand new. But I'm still sitting lower than everyone else.

    No top plates.
    I'm at 22 7/8 and 23 I have 1/4" top plates which give approx 1/2"
You are still a little low though

I have the 1/4 lean spacer. I'm contemplating getting 3/4 for each side on top of the 1/4 to make up the difference. Since everyone seems to think .85 setting and preloading the spring is a bad idea.

It would ride rougher but generally when you set it at .85 w/885's you'll be over 3". That's the concern

I did it with some help. First time taking it apart. I just noticed that when taking this pic that the rubber is pinched. Wonder if that's what's making the difference. But I also have the 1/4" lean spacer on that side.

I was going to say you may be measuring wrong but looking at those cv angles it doesn't even appear to be lifted. So yeah.... That's weird. Did you check the tag on the springs in case they sent the wrong ones? That would be the height from a 884 it seems.

you know I thought I did but I was so stoked they came in that I don't remember that I checked now. There's no way to tell by looking at the spring is here? But there is definitely a difference cause I'm running 285's and I couldn't clear them before. What is the stock distance...anyone know?

Stock on my truck was 20.25 pass and 20.20 driver when I checked last night. ( I took off my 6" to stock to 3" I wanted to know the height as well. After mine settled today and my big ass bouncing up and down on my front bumper it is at 23.5 pass side and 23.25 driver.

And yes you can look at that tag hanging off the spring in that pic you posted and it will say 883, 884, 885x, 886x

Thanks! So I'm only getting about 1.5" lift in the front right now then. I'll check the tag as soon as the kids are asleep!

Damn man, I have no clue. Unless they labeled them wrong at OME. I am lost. Are the 5100's used? I doubt both would be blown but damn.

Where are you measuring. The center of the hub or the top of the hub? Post a side profile pic of your truck if you can.

I have the same setup. I installed it about a year and a half ago. 885x on 5100 with the taco lean spacer on the driver side. After install I was at 23.5 on both sides. Since adding the sliders and armor underneath I am sitting at 22.25". Clears the 285/70/17 fairly well thou.

The added weight over the past 6 months seems to have caused mine to sag. And my rake to be a bit much for me. 25.5" in the rear put me at 3.5" of rake with 450 lbs in the bed at all times. I am going to remove a leaf from my custom pack and add a icons (rebuilding them now) up front to level it out.

Edit: I didn't realize you are the same person that posted in my build until now. Sucks your getting less of a lift from the get go with these coils. It appears everything is installed correctly.

Are you measuring from the center of the toyota logo on your FJ's to the center of the bottom of your fender?
