Agreed. But we need to make them last...can't just say, "oh its a toyota, it can take it." Everything wears out...the harder it spins the more it spins, the faster it wears.... :(

lol, the other day after it rained i hit a slick spot/puddle, bounced off the rev limiter while spraying muddy water all over a nice Mercedes, than caught the pavement and launched through the circle... it was hella fun :D

i hate loosing traction in my truck. its too easy to get to the point where you loose control. i grew up driving fast cars with great traction and i totally lost control trying to be a badass in the rain while turning left at an intersection. i ended up in the trees. no harm to myself my truck or anyone else but it was definitely a reminder that i wasn't driving my dads audis anymore

I was keeping up with a new v6 camaro the other day and I could tell he was stomping on it because he had a some kind of custom loud exhaust, so I'd say my 4.0 is pretty quick, probably just cuz it's new though

I enjoy my 4x4 more. Eventually I'll do engine mods again but I'm having fun building it up for off-road

yeah, going fast is fun but its not for me. Only performance mod i might do is if a ever blow up my v6 is getting a 4banger and throwing a small turbo on it, but only if it can match my V6 performance wise

I'll swap a 4.7 4runner engine or the fjs v6 in at some point. The fj 4.0 v6 has dual vvti

Had no idea that the 4runner did. But the dual vvti makes a big difference over our single vvti

my thing is getting a motor with torque. i dont care if i cant max out my speedometer, as long as i can hit 90 ill be happy. hence the 4banger turbo, will be all torque and no HP, along with a good amount of weight savings.
