Never saw this thread since I bought mine just over a month ago.
Already added factory front skid plate with TRD emblem (red decal)
Added ARE camper shell again with TRD decals in place of the ARE sticker on the side since I had to match the shell to the black body color.

I wired the camper shell to the tow harness clean splicing and then used the (dud?) third screw coming out of the taillight housing for a clean look and no drilling.

Go Rhino D2 side step bars. LED lights inside and in the camper. K&N CAI and bed mat.
Gentex GNTX 657 rear view with homelink, and compass.

Finally located my squeaking up front, Sway bar bushings! Took them off today, cleaned and greased them up and no more noise. Anyone else have issues with the sway bar bushings? kind of surprised they needed attention already.

Had to fix the pop-n-lock. The stud that holds the spring inside broke off. So I had to do a little Mc Gyver to fix it.

After going through every possible wiring problem...or so it thought, I gave up. I decided to try just wire it up so they come on with the headlights. Of course that didn't work either. Since it didn't work I figured it had to do with the wire I connected to the headlight wire. I had used the included in-line splice to connect the two wires, but as it turns out, the headlight wire is old and rock hard. I had to cut a bit of the insulation off so the metal tab on the slice would make contact. All is well and that was the only issue after the 2 nights of messing with it all.

Thanks! Just do it as a hobby. I still have to put the headlight hoops on it.

I've been eyeballing the aluminum DIY kit for a while now. Have a buddy who's a welding teacher a local tech school who said he'd weld it up for me if he could use it as an example for his class. It might end up being my winter project. does it recommend tacking it together while on the truck? I seen a few people on here do it that way.

Yeah you tack it on the truck to get everything lined up. You also have to angle the center hoop and notch the headlight hoops to fit the center hoop. I had fun doing it. It's my biggest project to date.

I welded my sliders and bed rack also. I'm hoping to start on a offroad teardrop trailer one of these days.
