Agreed. Last time I heard about "Just In Time" inventory was from a manufacturing seminar as one of my engineering classes. Funny that reminded me how difficult that class was made to be for 1 credit.

Yeah, In the past when I've called the parts guys have been dicks. They have the best prices though. Sad to see Jorge from there leave.

What are the ramifications of taking this useless POS out of system, reason is we have that fucking visual inspection bull shit for CARB & I'm not juiced in to any smog guys anymore & some of these techs are anal as fuck. Personally my ABS is on most the time & my brakes work like brakes, great. As soon as the light is out, look the fuck out its a crap shoot as to stopping or not. Mine sounds like a fucking cow farting in the cab, goddamned embarrassing

You can always just simply pull the fuse for the ABS. Brakes become ABS-free, just the ABS light stays on (as if I give a shit ). Throw the fuse back in if you're worried about an inspection.

Yeah, that's it! I pulled the fuse first to see how it performed before I ripped out the whole thing. Better handling without it, so I took it out and never looked back.

Thankfully I've never had the pleasure (or mispleasure) of having the ABS kick in. Maybe I'm just use to it but I don't see wbat the concern is beyond more crap to maintain.

How much more HP did it give ?? More than a TW sticker ??...:p

From what I'm told ABS is for slide resistant stopping on slippery surfaces.. translation: It knows better than you how to stop.... I call BullShit on that one.. Around here ABS has caused more wrecks than it ever prevented...

Oh, if you've never had it kick in for you , it's an interesting exercise in terror I assure you , the more you push on brake the less brake you have, I think speed actually picks up.....:eek:

    It's just useless POS...

Wasn't today but I did finally change out my fuel tank pressure sensor. Was a pain to get the retaining clip out considering you can't see what your doing. That and "fixed" my rear o2 sensor issue. Going to get it inspected today so hopefully all goes well.

Like I said, maybe I'm just use to it. Living in the frozen north with black ice and snow compacted until its slicker than a hockey rink, your not slowing down no matter what you do. With non-ABS, if you begin to slide you pump the brakes until your tires find something they'll grip. With ABS, you stand on the brakes and let them moo and groan until the tires find something to grip.

It's obviously different in Kommiefornia unless you're in the mountains but I've been on ice, snow, mud, sand, skree, ect. with my ABS and haven't had an issue.

I'm not bragging, just wondering why the hate runs so deep.

    Maybe yours is broken? [IMG]

Whenever I've used it in snow/ice and sometimes rainy conditions, I can so much as creep to a stop sign at 5mph and the damn thing kicks in. Nothing I can do as the ABS proceeds to roll the truck halfway through the intersection. I pump the brakes regardless, and I've used the ebrake in an attempt to overcome ABS a few times. I've had much more control and feel a lot safer without it.

Not today but yesterday, I installed a 160 degree thermostat, higher pressure radiator cap, put in new toyota red antifreeze, and rewired my e-fans for about the 5th time. My truck is much happier now.

Toyota is notoriously terrible at tuning abs and stability control systems. They're always way too intrusive.

Not as bad as Hyundai, at least a '06 Hyundai Tucson. That thing caused everyone in my family to rear end someone. My dad on ice with studs, my mom on snow and me on fresh rain at an intersection. Also, while driving up a steep hill on ice the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) kept kicking in and out and I started rolling down the steep icy hill backwards! Stability control switch hit I got power to the wheels and drove right up. I never drove that car with ESC again.

I would assume most guys rip out ABS and these types of "safety" equipment because they can drive better than a program written 15 years ago for our trucks computer, or some ABS controller.

I think i felt mine kick in once. Most of the time the ABS light is on so it's not on. My ABS light comes and goes on the highway all the time so I'm not sure what that's about. I like the idea of pulling the fuse.

    ^This.
You won't get bugged about it in Cali either. My parents used to be smog techs. It's not an inspection like other states have, just emissions.
Also if the light bugs you, it's a single bulb you can pull out from the backside of the gauge cluster. It's like it never existed! :D

Ah yes...there it is. We go from ABS to Kommiefornia. Not like we're talking about guns, politics, or any nonsense. Yet you still find the need to throw that in there. Christ, we're talking about ABS. Is the ABS module programmed with fascist intentions? Perhaps some magic sociaeconomic self perpetuating political party dictating how ABS is going to work in CA vehicles? No.
Now Minnesota! There's a fine example of a state. Kudos to you with your cheese curds, enormously obese fucks stuffing their face at the state fair, and your rusted to shit trucks driven by fat ugly bitches with a face full of cigarettes. Maybe one day the populous of your state might actually get out of the 90's. [IMG]
