"extreme" or high end coolers

All are good brands.

I have a 75qt Brute. Made in USA, outstanding customer service, extremely fast shipping, and they don't charge for some replacement parts. I had a coonhound chew up one of my rope handles, then some savage stole my drainplugs. They never charged me for either part when I called and asked for replacements.

If I was gonna buy another brand, I'd probably buy an Engle. Only reason being when I was in Australia and went to the Top End with S.H.I.T. Offroad, Engle coolers and 12v freezers was the only brand they used and they were rugged as shit.

No matter which one you buy, it will be heavy as hell, an inconveniently bulky. But you'll be happy with it.

 

Igloo and Coleman keep ice just as long. There are plenty of videos on youtube of tests that prove it.

 

I've got two Yetis... as you know. I do like the accessories available to them (cup holders, rod holders etc). If I had it to do again I'd go Pelican. I'm love all their stuff and lifetime warranty is awesome. They weren't available when I bought.

 

I recently purchased a Engel Deep Blue, which is primarily used for camping. Overall it performs as advertised. It's a great cooler.

After 1 year of what I'd consider light use, my Coleman already has one of the handles falling off... That's from half a dozen camping trips where it basically got loaded in my house, carried to the truck, then moved around the camp site. Pathetic if you ask me, I expected a lot better from Coleman.

 

I have compared them all over and over again and I have settled on the Brute box for when I finally pull the trigger.

The video claims the Engel as best buy.
I have that cooler and it is very sturdy and is probably the best for the money.
Had the marine Coleman before the Engel and it was good but not as sturdy.

 

I wish I could give a review of my 65 qt yeti, but I've only used it once. It's very stout, you could stand on it and it doesn't budge at all. There is an internal basket I put eggs/bacon on that keeps things out of the ice. I had ice in it for 3 consecutive days without much melting, and I didn't add any. That's all I got so far.

 

The carry handles are very well made, the latch system does not look like it would hold up in the sun for very long, what I mean by that is if the latches were in the sun for extended periods of time for a year or so I think they would rot, but yeti does sell replacement handles. The bottom has rubber stops that keep it from sliding around in the bed of the taco, you don't even have to have it tied down. On the freeway I hit 70 and had some traffic halt me pretty fast, the cooler didn't even move a little. On the way back from the beach I tied it down. On the lid there are grooves that look like they were made to have the cooler strapped down, 1 set going left to right, 1 set going up and down. That's all I can think of.. lol

 

i have a yeti, so of course thats what im gonna say.

i have a friend that has yeti's and a grizzly. i dont like the latches of the grizzly. they're just regular screws. but its a beast of a cooler though, about the size of a coffin.

 

id buy a pelican though and walmart sells them also.

 

when I was researching I did narrow it down to Grizzly and Brute over the Yeti.
But Brute won in the end based off what I was looking for. It is thicker foam on the bottom compared to the yeti. Has better handles and can cutomize the top in anyway you want. I have emailed them and it is only like $40 to add whatever image on the top. (they have some already made for $25). Also you can get a 75qt brute for about the price of a 35/45 qt yeti so that was another factor. I like how the brutes have better latches.
