What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Flying into LAX showed me how many trails you have out there and it made me severely depressed that I live on the East Coast.

 

Try flying over/ into a state like WV, trails as far as you can see

I was not saying at ABS in one state is different than another. I specifically stated that road conditions in one state ARE different between states. I should also add that road construction is also different between states.

Up here, our roads are rougher due to the need for more traction in the winter in addition to the annual pounding the roads get from 140+ degree temperature swings. Down south, roads can be made smoother since icing isn't a primary concern.

It's purely speculative based on road conditions and such. I was just stating that I (me, myself only) have not had any issues with the ABS kicking in and causing safety concerns.

x2. Mines only kicked in once or twice and that was on snowy/slush roads.

100% agree! I hate mine so much and have been wanting to rip it out but have no time. I am pulling the fuse today, wasn't aware that I could do that.

I still have to get a belly skid but I am thinking about going with his gas skid when I get to that point. I'll be keeping an eye open on any reviews to see how you like it.

The other skids have held up great. Taken a few good hits....no dents yet. Guess I aint wheeling hard enough...lol

 

I guess I don't either. A few scratches on my Budbuilt IFS skid and a few on the sliders but no major damage. I've been putting off the under armor for so long because I haven't really needed it. Of course, when you need it is never a good time to go buy it...

I should really invest in a quality lift first but the way I see it is that skids are cheaper than a lift, therefor I will be more comfortable and capable with full skids vs. lift. I've been thoroughly impressed that my truck has taken whatever I throw at it with just sliders, tires and stock skids.

 

The problem is I am a do something once kind of person. I hate the idea of spending $1k in a complete toytech lift when ultimately mid travel is my final goal.

 

I had a the full underbody skids (front diff, trans diff, t-case diff) before I got my lift.......bottoming out sux

 

I washed her this morning. All the rain made the perfect mud patterns, from this weekend, run and look like shit.

Going to find a stereo shop do the electrical wires for me.
