Should I call the dealer to see if they can align my lights? I just put in Hids in the other day, keep getting high beamed and for everyones safety maybe I should lower the lights?
I tried finding the screw to change the angle but it looks like I have to take my lights apart to do this?? Anyone done this before? or did you just go to the dealership and do they do this for free even though I have aftermarket bulbs?

You're out of luck if you put an hid bulb in a reflector housing. Cant aim that at all, no matter how hard you try. If you want to run HID then i suggest a retrofit. Check out the kits at theretrofitsource.com

The adjusters are located on the back of the light housing. One for up and down and one for side to side. Always end your adjusting with a counter clockwise adjustment to lock it in place. A shop manual has the protocol in it.

I just lifted my truck and had to re-align the headlights. there are two adjustment screws on the back of the headlight with little black caps on them. The bottom one controls the up and down and the top one is left and right. I unbolted the windshield wiper res. so i could fit down in there. I had a socket on a pneumatic drive so it was pretty easy. its tough to get down in there but it worked.

I found the top one, but thats for horizontal adjustment. The bottom ones are for the vertical ones, but I have a hard time finding it and I feel like you have to take your headlights off to get to them? Idk I tried last night and I gave up

Well, i suppose its not impossible. But, i would recommend you put the stock blubs in until you get a projector. But that's just me.

^^^ This. There is a reason why putting HID capsules in headlights designed for halogen bulbs is illegal. You will not be able to adjust that properly.

No matter how much you adjust, the light output will still be scattered and blind oncoming motorists.

Dude, the stock halogen bulbs have a little "shield" under the low beam filament. This causes the light to be reflected off of only the top half of the reflector bowl and produces a nice sharp "cut off" line. This prevents light from shining up in the faces of oncoming drivers.

The high beam filament sits closer to the base of the bulb and is unshielded, allowing it to utilize the entire reflector and shine light everywhere. This is why people usually do not drive with their high beams on all the time.

Your HID bulb is pretty much acting like the high beam filament and reflecting light off of the entire reflector. You can make all the adjustments you want but that will not change this simple fact.
