When I bought my used 2004 Tacoma back in 2005 there was a condom stuck in behind the visor pocket. Left it there. Never know. Probably so old wouldn't be safe anyway. :D

Been in a few scary places but never felt the need to pack a gun.

I carry this G26 around and use a 19 for work. Like them a lot and trigger pull for me is perfect just the right amount of slack in my opinion.

I do like shooting. I just don't carry. my theory is jesus, buhda, ghandi and MLK walked in power. Hitler. Mussolini and Bush walked in force. power overcomes force. (see http://www.level-of-consciousness.org/ ) then it becomes a choice o trust or ear. i prefer trust since it walks in power, creates less force and at the end it is what it is anyway.

While I do carry everyday, everywhere, I agree that the cellphone is you most important self defense tool. Notice the 'defense' in self defense. Use either to get yourself OUT of a situation. NOT deeper. ;)

I agree with you and I like your view.

When the force comes... I don't want to be without. The last thing I ever want to do is fire a weapon in self defense but I will if I have too.

SO a guy comes up, says Give me your daughter or i'll shoot you and her. what do you do now? call 911 and hope they show up within 10 minutes and catch the guy ASAP before he rapes/kills your daughter?

I never owned before my event either but when a guy tried to stab my wife (GF at the time) right in front of me and I couldn't do anything about it, I swore not to let it happen again. She still has trouble sleeping at night. It wasn't that I was against owning or carrying, I was Naive to the dangers in society today.

That is totally a what if scenario(fear) what if that never happened?

I won't take away from the experience. it happens. but in theory it only happens a small percentage of times.

I am sorry for the events and i hope it gets better. teach her to understand that most victims are just victims, they did not deserve it. I worked crisis lines which is why i don't carry. most of the time a carry does nothing

that is cool. i just dont worry about it. I tend to walk lightly. I've been in 3rd world. i've never had a problem being nice. force sees force and power knows its own. I pulled out a mag3 flashlight and didn't even need it. That was in Mexico.

I like shooting for sport, and I pray I would never need to ever shoot anyone, but my wife was robbed at gun point once. Very scary situation. My wife and I now both have a CCDW and are always carrying a handgun of choice. It is not living in fear, as some have stated, but rather being prepared for the 'what if' situations. Just like being prepared when going off road, etc... Yes, I agree, let the cops do their thing, but what do you do while waiting for them? Depending on your location, it may be 5 minutes, or 30+ before they arrive. They 'bad guys' obviously have no regard to morals or law, and won't wait around for the cops to arrive either. Be prepared, not scared, or living in fear. If anyone attempts any harm/rape or points a firearm at myslef/wife/kids/friends etc., it will be a bad day for them. But, know the law, and be aware of your surroundings.
I do also agree a cell phone is a top choice, and attempting to avoid bad situations.
And for the record, I carry a Sig P226, and my wife carries Sig P229, both chambered in .40 S&W :)

may want to check state laws on this. some states it’s illegal to only carry a bat in a vehicle. base/softballs/ i think gloves or helmets make it legal.

I like that a lot. Once you get used to an auto, or even spring assist knife, you can never go back.

I carry my Kershaw Cryo everywhere I go.
