Are used hubs any good for a rebuild Kev? Is it even worth it?

 

the only things you would re-use are the bolts and the hub flange itself. this all depends on what the seal surface looks like on the hub of course.

the Prerunners are the only ones I have rebuilt because of the cost of a new prerunner hub from Toyota. With the aftermarket hub for the 4x4 it's cheaper & easier to just purchase a complete assembly.

 

I figured as much.
When Jerry & I rebuilt the front end the hubs weren't too bad. I'll keep them for a trail spare but that's about it.

Received mine around 11:45 today and I was driving again by 12:45. nice product I need to order another so I am ready for the passenger side. will do soon. I will watch for the next sale?

 

I'm hearing a loud chirping sound that I believe is coming from my drivers side wheel. When I put on the breaks the sound stops but promptly comes back when I left off the break. Does this sound like a possible Wheel Bearing issue?
I do have like 127K on the truck...

Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.
I know this thread is designated for the sale of nj636's Wheel Bearings and maybe I should have posted this in another area...
I just though the subject material was relevant & if it was my wheel bearing, I'd be in the right place to buy a replacement. I'm happy to delete it or have it moved if those are your wishes nj636.

Hey no worries on asking questions in here, it's encouraged.

I have heard all types of noises with a bad bearing. The most common being similar to a loud mud terrain at speed. Others have indicated a squealing noise.

The proper way to check the wheel bearing is to lift the front end of the truck and spin the wheel listening for any grinding noise. Grab the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock and push/pull, you can also stick a pry bar under the tire while it is a few inches off the ground and pull up. Any play would indicate a worn bearing.

Check back with your findings!

I ordered a 4WD assembly sunday night at 11:30PM and it was on my doorstep in less than a week. Took about 30min to install.

I got this quoted at my local dealership and they quoted me $750/side or $1250 for both.

As of 15 miles later all the rumbling in my truck is now gone and it drives like a champ again.
