Ehh. Moderate I guess. Get into some hairy situations every now and then. Only happens when fully stuffing. Usually paired with turning. I rub the back since I have my LR's adjusted.

Its just the nature of the beast really.

Does anyone know if the 285/70/17's will rub the stock 17" sport rims? I have a 2.5-3" lift with icons and an alcan leaf pack. I'd like to get the biggest size that doesn't need a cab mount chop and new rims (for now). Thanks to all....

you'll need wheel spacers.. and most likely a cab mount chop.. not to mention the regular trimming of fenders.

Just placed my order for 4 of these - 265/75/16 C from Tread Depot. After reading as much about tires as I ever care to...I went with these as they seem to fit my needs best:

    • Lots of snow/ice in Maine
    • Lots of hunting/fishing on forest & logging roads of varying conditions
    • Lot's of highway travel to said places
    • No serious rock crawling or off-roading
    • Daily driving vehicle
Once they arrive, I'll schedule my install with alignment and will post pics.

I haven't had mine off road yet but so far I can't complain about my Toyo AT2s. They do have some road noise but not bad. BTW I checked out your gallery, I live the pic of your dog with the bird! Where do you hunt?

That was a bird I had winged & was running.....he did a great track and brought it back to me alive & intact!

I hunt all over the state (both upland & ducks)....well not much in southern Maine. Spend a lot of time north of Moosehead Lake and do a couple of trips to the NMW (different area each time) each season. I'm going to explore more around western Maine some this year. I hoard most of my vacation (6 weeks) for Oct & Nov for hunting....especially like bird hunting in Nov as most other hunters have moved onto Deer.

I'm from Northern Maine but live in Southern Maine now. I miss my weekend bird hunting. This year I'm planning a week long trip up home just for bird hunting! I'd like to find some bird hunting a little closer.

I'm from & live in southern Maine too, but spend a ton of time up north. Even though there may be good places here & there, I don't even bother trying to find places around here to bird hunt....I'd simply rather drive north/west to go. Duck hunting, however, there are plenty of places around here to go.

Snow and ice? When I bought mine Toyo Canada told me the Toyo AT II were not recommended for winter weather. The Canadian Toyo website gives it a middle rating for winter.

I run Toyo's ATII's, but always switch to their GSI5's for winter. On slippery roads their is really no comparison between a dedicated winter and an AT.

Every AT tire I've ever run has worked just fine for me in winter here in Maine. I think proper winter driving habits are key. I've never run a dedicated winter tire.

Perhaps your temperatures are warmer and you get less ice, because I lose significant traction running AT's in winter. Evidenced by an ABS that all too regularly making an appearance at the wrong time.

I could get by running bald tires in winter if I wanted to roll like old lady. It is all relative. I prefer winter tires. The softer compound of rubber, extra siping and proper circumferencial grooving makes a noticeable difference.

100+ inches of snow this past winter with some freezing rain, sleet & some ice, but probably not as much ice as you way up there.

Tires were installed (along with alignment) yesterday afternoon at the Dealership (with whom I have a good relationship and have always done good work for me). No issues with scratched/dinged up wheels or the TPMS.
Had the wheel weights installed on the inside.

Ride home was smooth (35pmh) and just took the interstate for a quick high speed (80mph) test.....smooth as silk.

Love how they look and fill the wheel well better than the 265/70/16 size I had before.

    I'll post pics later today.
