Explain to me why I shouldn't mix springs.....:notsure:

OP, I didn't read anything in between you're first post & this , but was going to say that the first pic that gave you concern is pretty much what you'd expect with lifting the front & the rear still being stock (pre AAL) Now you have a little rake but it'll settle soon most likely...

I know some people have run them with success. I just think it's strange to me to not run springs with the shocks that are specifically designed and valved to work together. I would wanna do it right the first time and not run into issues down the road. Just my thoughts is all. Don't let me be your swing vote. It's your rig. Do what YOU want.

The AAL wasn't going to lift the rear enough even with calculating the coils settling.

The front has settled and I finished with about 2.75" of front lift.

I understand what you're saying, I've made a small business here doing just that (mixing/replacing Chevy leafs into Toyota leafpacks) But you're right as far as the coils go, not nearly as forgiving as the rear is..

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is the finished product no ? Seems the AAL had plenty even with the fronts settling

EDIT: For the record I run 2nd gen OME 883#'s on 1st gen Tundra 5100's

Yeah, but leveled trucks are for city boys. I wanted a rake.

I've seen your work! Bravo sir!

When my rig is less of a DD and more of a trail/weekend rig, I will probably swap in Chevy leafs. Keep up the good work!!

I have driveline vibrations at 25-30 mph. I stopped by wheelers and picked up a 3 degree shim kit. I should get it in tomorrow. Hopefully it fixes the issue

I'm not sure what you mean. Here's a pic.

Is it designed to go under the pack without removing the pin ( slide in ) or is it the style where you have to remove the pin , put on the shim and reinstall the pin ?

Do the slide-in shims not work well?

They do but if you use that style you need to put centre pin collars on the centre pins otherwise there is not enough of the pin head exposed through the axle shim to positively engage into the axle
