I've been searching on threads about the pop-n-lock and did not find the answer i was looking for. So here it is... Does anyone here use silicone to seal around the camera since there is a big gap around it? Does anyone here use thread lock to secure the middle screw that holds the entire mechanism? i think this is the cause why pop n lock is getting stuck. once the mechanism becomes loose, the latching handle is not catching the latch that opens the mechanism. Any modification you made with the pop n lock like mentioned above?

I didn't use any silicone or thread locker. The only thing I did was modify the way the pull rod routed to the left side. I didn't like the way it flexed after turning it over as the instructions described. I reshaped it slightly and moved the plastic guide so it could still be used to support the rod.

Do you notice or have any issues with water getting in through the camera gap on the sides and how long have you had yours?

I've had mine since last December. I haven't worried about a small amount of water in the tailgate as it's not a sealed unit anyway and it has adequate drainage.

+1 to the not using silicone or thread locker on mine.

I didn't even modify/turn/change the pull rod. I left mine factory, it works just fine without any binding or sticking at all.

Love the Pop n Lock! Now just need to get my "Jimmi Jammer" installed so I don't have to worry (much) about my tailgate being stolen...
