None. Go out of town to get married, and tell them you aren't having a wedding party.... :D

Just got married this weekend and a very similar issue. I went with best friend cause I have two brothers and didn't want to pick between them, even though I'm really closer with one over the other. In your case I would've gone with both, bro and best friend. Makes the day easier for you too. Good luck and congrats!

Yeah, but I can never pass up an opportunity to throw Conspiracy Keanu in there...even if it means beating that horse again...

Seriously though, I literally just went through a similar scenario. Got engaged back in April and I've got a brother and two buds who are the three best men I know, but the bro got Best Man because, well, he's my brother and has been there since the beginning. The other two guys are groomsmen. Perfect size wedding party; not too big or small. That's my take.

    Congrats, and good luck!

    :)

 might put together an overnight trip to the Badlands as a bachelor party and invited some local guys like LoadedTaco and NWiTaco if you're into wheelin'

    :laughing::rofl:

Probably going to go with both. And thanks

Yea my best friend has a brother too. Don't think he would ever get married and that's why he approached my fiance asking if I would pick him; might be his only shot :notsure:

Haha all good man. Thanks

It's definitely a tough decision for sure! I wish I could pick my dad :(

So, I will give back story to my comment. Wife (then fiancee...) wanted a destination wedding of some sort. We agreed on Hawaii, just due to passport issues and time tables of other places. She then asked what we were doing for wedding parties there. She had her best friend as her sister, and best friend as her maids of honor if we went that way. I explained to her, I didn't have anyone like that. I had my brother, who I don't talk to (but I was his best man??????), and my best friend who was just going through a messy divorce. I felt it was way easier to just go with none of them, and just tell people they could come meet us in Maui if they wanted to be a part of the wedding.

Well, my brother didn't show anyway. My best friend was in court that whole week.

Fast forward to the reception. We had it in KS so people could celebrate and yadda yadda. My brother, who I had asked to write a small speech for me, didn't show again. So, my best friend did it, even though he hated the idea of marriage at the time

That's rough about your brother not showing up twice. And kudos to your friend for being willing to stand up.

Your brother should be your best man, I've been the best friend in 2 weddings and the brother was the best man in both, a best friend just can't replace a blood brother.

I'm getting married next weekend, I wish you luck and sanity in the months ahead, you'll need both.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm getting married next May, my choice was easy though because my brother and I don't agree on anything and don't really hang out or anything. So he's not even in my side of the wedding party. I'm using my roomate of 3 years while in school as my best man and then 2 guys I grew up to fill the rest of it.

Depending on how well your brother and your friend get on you could just leave it to them? Or put them through a series of hilarious tests for your enjoyment to decide. Without knowing them my guess would be that most guys just wouldn't care and would be cool with doing it or the other guy doing it. So unless they're the emotional type they probably wouldn't care all that much either way.

If you're really stuck, give your bother heads and your friend tails, flip the coin, and see if you like the outcome. If you do, good, you're set. If you don't, go with the other one.

Have your brother(blood) stand next to you but call them best men and make them share the responsibilities. goodluck man. Planning a wedding is stressfull even for the guys.

Someone mentioned hurt feelings if you don't pick them both. That's usually a problem that women deal with which is why they have 23 friends in their bridal party. Men don't get hurt feelings over weddings, and if they do they probably ought to be in the bridal party anyway.
I'd normally think you should have your brother be your best man, but I wonder about your relationship with him because you wouldn't be asking this question in the first place.

A friend of 20 years, 30 years, 50 years makes no difference as tomorrow you can wake up and they'll never want to talk or see you again. Family will always be family. JMHO

Nope. Its her day. Not his. Honestly when it came to my wedding I didnt really care. I supported my wife in the desisions. I gave opinions when asked. But when it came down to it. I just want her to be happy and to celebrate with friends and family.

Honestly, as long as she is happy just enjoy the ride. Let things go. You can plan all you want but on your wedding day stuff will go wrong you have no control over. Just smile and let it go. Remind her to just have fun. Just enjoy the day as it flys by. Its just a big party. Dont stress.

To me your brother will understand that the best man title is a way that you can tell your best friend he is like blood to you. I was best man for a close friend while his brother was a groomsman, and the brother had no problem with it. He knew how close him and his brother were and was happy to have me feel like an integral part of his brother's life by being best man.

    All true.

And our relationship is good 30% of the time and bad the rest of the time. I ask him to hang out, go to the gym, or like come out to the garage to learn a few things whenever I have a mod I have to do but he rather stay in his room. I'm only doing it as a courtesy to him and my family. Like I said, for him it would just be more so of a title but they both would get responsibilities. He kids around a lot and dish out so much but can't take it when you do it to him.
