Wanna know how I know you're a lot younger than I am?

I remember cars before ABS. Double clutching. Hell, the first two vehicles I drove didn't come with SEAT BELTS from the factory.

Rear drive station wagon with a 200ish inline V6 made during the Eisenhower administration was a FUN way to learn to drive in Wisconsin winters

LOL yup.... pump the gas twice, once to set the choke, once to squirt some fuel down her throat. Crank. have to actually have clutch control to get into unsyncronized gears etc.

    I miss my 79 CJ5

The CJ5 was the last Jeep worth a wet fuck. They've gone steadily downhill from there to the comparative trash they are now.

    *old, from the north

Whatever, my point is software backed momentary button is a stupid interface. But some people don't get it and would be content with a touch screen for a gas pedal ;).

Heated seats now, but no cooling seats with a redesign? That's bush, I'll keep my 07!

After checking again I think you were talking about the 2016 Colorado/Canyon

I don't know how you know so much but you do have all the right answers so far.

    Smart key check
    More mpg check
    Same size check
    Sunroof?
More updated and higher end materials inside check
If it can get the quoted mpg then it might be a good replacement.

Is this going to be a mild update? Or a major model change? And with all the new equipment (sun roof, heated seats, pass key, etc), what is the pricing going to jump to???

A trusted Toyota employee. Something I just recently took note of, as not too many as on point with the 2016.

It will be a full model change. Some of the $50k+ Toyota 4x4 stable are also testing now and they're not any of the pickups. It will busy for the next year or two.

Really? Interesting. My contact gave me another impression, especially in relation to the next 4Runner. He's been quite accurate on other info, but I guess not the platform. I will ask why I was told otherwise (at that level), since this is merely a 2nd generation facelift. Thanks.

I do hope they give it a normal gauge cluster similar to the new Tundras. I'm over the gauge in the port hole concept.

Badgers, I don't need no stinking Badgers.
Shoot they need to leave some options to add to the new 2030

No more port holes. The one in the mule in the 1st post is what you'll see.

Its to bad the Display in the middle looks so oldschool.

So many cars have nicely integrated TFT (TV) Display's now adays I was hoping the Tacoma would be one.

The gauges do look very European IMO, which is great because BMW/VW/Merc have the best dash designs going. Very subtle yet classy.

Looks like it's just turned off. It looks like a display screen in the middle

I guess the big question with the new 3.5 2GR is weather or not it will match the 266ft/lbs of the old 1GR. Any insight into that PBM317?

You can bet that if it is a DI 2GR and it's only making 270hp that the cams and fuel/timing maps are set up for torque. I would say 280-300 ft/lbs. And it'll come on a lot earlier in the rpm band than the car applications of the 2GR.

That's what I figured. The only thing that made me doubt it was it registers 140mph, which seemed excessive for a pickup truck.

I would love to have 300 ft-lbs of torque at 1500 rpm. No need for diesel engine :p :crapstorm:
