Yeah, i looked into hooking up a basic $10 actuator to the handle, but its impossible (well, nothing is impossible, but definitely not easy) with this new style handle, so i just got the kit because i was not able to find this new kind of actuator on its own

That isn't a bad price but I don't really like the handle that comes with it. After using all the canopies I would have to say Leer's handle is the best/easiest design.

Relentless Bed Bars installed. Saving some dough for my RTT, but meanwhile they make nice fishing rod holders.

It fits over new style Leer handle that I have. As long as the back of your handle looks like the one in these instructions (sorry, could not find direct link to a photo)

    http://www.truckoutfittersplus.com/...instructions_new_leer_twist_handle_113436.pdf

The actuator slides right over the handle and replaces the little plastic dust cover that hides to holes on the sides of the lock cylinder. (Steps 9 and 10 in the linked PDF)

What brand rod holders are those. I like them and that's a great setup you have. I'm going to have to copy you if that's alright :D

Go right ahead. ;) They are from Rodmounts, but they cam with adjustable rods (like a shower curtain type) and suction cups to attach to the windows inside a bed cap or SUV windows. I had them inside a Yukon. So I just used the rod holder part and zip tied them to the bed bars. You could probably do the same with much cheaper Berkley rod holders or something similar so you're not paying for the rods and suction cups.

It looks like the back side does have a bit of a different design that would not allow the actuator your talking about to work with the aftermarket handle. I would love to get my hands on a real Leer handle.

And for those of you that ask, "Why not just buy a Leer?", I am too cheap to buy a new leer and have modified my Snugtop too much to want to redo it all. If I find a cheap used 100xq I may still swap it all over but that's the only other top I'd be interested in.

Ah, looks like you have Rebel with rotary latch and rods. You can probably convert that thing to the Leer style with cables, but you may have to replace the strikers too

Just check your local used used shell retailers. I got a used Leer 100XQ for $1200 in excellent condition.

Replace the stock opening with the same mesh material your upper grill is made from and recess the light behind the grille and it will look awesome.
